“This is my first time in Lexington. I stopped here for a work lunch. When I arrived, a long line had already formed, so I knew the food was going to be good. I ordered the Greeen chili Jack smoked Turkey sandwich. It was delicious. Unfortunately, I didn't get the full expirence evidently. I should have ordered an Ale 8. Im from NC, so I never heard of it. I will be trying it out on my next visit.”

“Visited a few days ago while in town on business. I had some hot tea with fresh lemon and a little sugar. It was very comforting. Ordered the chicken and dumplings. It is nothing like I’m accustomed to. I personally did not like it. There is virtually no chicken broth, so very dry. The service and ambience in the restaurant was top notch.”

”4/20/23 Update - Their new menu is out and we had a chance to sample their Steak Frites (grilled Hangar steak, romesco saice, parm fries, and truffle aioli) and their Pan Seared Salmon (Fregula pasta, asparagus, English peas, baby spinach, and red pepper purée) and both were worthy of a place on the menu. We’ll definitely try them again along with their other new items). Pictures of both below… I can’t believe I’ve not written a review for this place given the fact that it’s one of my favorite local restaurants to visit and given the number of times I’ve eaten here! Always a pleasure and Jamie, our favorite waitress and JR her manager, always take good care of us. Their menu changes from time to time and I believe they’re ready for another change this month but I always look forward to trying their new dishes and returning to some of the old favorites that customers would scream about if they ever took it off the menu - like their fish and chips - one of the best around town and one of our favorites. I also like their salmon dishes with the latest being salmon over butternut squash, sweet corn, snd spinach risotto - delicious and the only thing that could improve it would be a dash of heat to dance with the sweetness of the corn. Their Saturday and Sunday brunch is equally delicious. If you haven’t been there before I suggest you give them a try - you won’t be disappointed!”

”I gave atmosphere 5 stars because that’s just the way it is. This is absolutely the smallest restaurant I’ve ever seen. There was about 7-8 benches to sit and a shelf along the window if you want to stand and eat. They got a few call in orders while we were there, but service was top notch. The food was excellent. I got a bowl of Chili and a Cheeseburger. Both of them I could easily put in my top 5 of all time. The chili was really great Hot Dog chili which they serve as well along with a full breakfast menu. It was thick and slightly sweet with a few beans and loaded with meat. The Cheeseburger was awesome. The patty was smashed and cooked on a grill with Tomato, Pickle, and Onion. Both the Chili and Cheeseburger I could put in my top 5 of all time.”

”An easygoing breakfast joint with cocktails and unique options for dining. I love the high top seating! Everything about this screamed fresh and new and easygoing. Their chicken and waffles were probably the best I’ve ever tasted. It was a perfect ratio between sweet and savory and just when I realized I couldn’t finish my plate, my husband couldn’t let it go to waste. He had their filet and eggs and would have licked the plate if he could (I wouldn’t let him!). Cedar was my favorite restaurant we went to during our trip in Ohio and Kentucky. ”What a gem nestled in Schnitzelburg! Great New Orleans cuisine. Had the Roasted Cauliflower appetizer. It was the only mildly disappointing thing of the night. Very, very vinegary! 😳 My wife had the onion burger (sans the bun). Loved it. She also had the brussel sprouts for a side. Spicy, tasty! She cleaned both plates. I had the Jambalaya and Shrimp. There was a ton of it! Thoroughly enjoyed it, and pleased that I had some to take home! The place was moderately busy, but not slammed. One thing they could work on, is making sure the servers do not overlap food! We were still working on our appetizer, when the entrees were brought out. I despise overlap! Suddenly struggling to find room to fit everything on the table... 🤨 The food was so good, however, I was able to forgive that! Highly recommend. We will definitely be there again, especially since it's 5 minutes from the house!”

”Had a DELICIOUS bowl of curry soup (Fridays only) in their dining room, which was much much more spacious than I was expecting given the size of the front entry area. Very relaxing and different than most other restaurant experiences. Tip: check out the menu beforehand since there is not huge variety of lunch items. Tip 2: order your cake rolls before lunch and take them to-go. This will let them get to the proper temp for full enjoyment — I had three and all were good; there were a mix of more traditionally Japanese flavors, plus flavors we are used to having in the U.S. I found them all to be “just sweet enough”. Everything from the location to staff to food was a win for me.”

”The customer service is definitely a highlight of the place and they are fast and responsive and do very well to check upon you consistently to make sure that you are all right and served. The drinks are pretty good and they have a pretty good selection between alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, so that's a definite plus. Especially that they taste almost exactly like it says on the menu. They have a huge selection of dips for your chips and they all have their own specific flavor profiles and taste to make it experience worth tasting in every single dip flavor. The tacos themselves are made very fast at our decently sized tacos with amazing prices. The one small takeaway from their food is the fact that the meat is super tender but some of the flavors which are really good flavors overpower a lot of the meat in the tacos. Outside of that, the place is clean. The staff is friendly and it has a very bright, welcoming atmosphere that was amazing place to have dinner.”

”Whoever decided this layout is in serious need of more training. An example would be apple juice being in the chips isle, NOT in the juice box isle, nor the water/sports drink isle or soda. When TWO of your employees give up searching for apple juice - that’s a sign. That’s just an example. There is a condiment isle, another separate isle for just ketchup and mustard, another for salad dressing and soy sauce can only be found in the tiny Asian section in another isle. The sheer amount of people I saw looking confused at the signs above each isle was extraordinary. Edit: The Pharmacy is great. Everyone is always so nice and do their best to help their customers. It’s obvious they are super busy 24/7 and even still they manage to be on time with prescriptions and helpful. I will only go to this pharmacy due to this. So, thanks to everyone who works at the pharmacy on Hubbards lane.”
