“We wanted to try a restaurant outside of Lexington, so I did some research and found this place. It is small so it has limited seating. We sat at the bar which was neat because we could watch them make the food. I didn’t realize they were known for their burger until we saw signs in the restaurant. If a restaurant is popular for a certain item I usually try to go with that item. They were extremely busy inside and it looked like they also did quite a bit of take out. It took a while to get the food but honestly every staff member were working as quickly as possible to keep up. At one point there were over 10 burgers on the grill. One waitress was a bit friendly than another but over good customer service. The couple next to us had the open-faced roast beef. If I had seen that before we ordered I probably would have gone with that because it looked GREAT. They said that every time they go to this restaurant that dish is what they get. The burger had a good cook on the meat, but it did not wow me. It seemed to be lacking some flavor from the burger itself. I was not a huge fan of the chili on the chili cheese fries but that is personal preference. My biggest issue is that I didn’t get the food item I wanted. Originally, I ordered the Bacon & Beer Cheeseburger but they were out of Beer Cheese. So, I chose the Cowboy burger…but they were out of Jalapenos. I ended up getting the Cliffside Burger.”

“I love the Merrick Inn! Such a beautiful, elegant restaurant inside. Wonderful bar! Beautiful and spacious patio with outside bar area as well. The service is always amazing, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere lends itself to a fabulous dining experience. ALL of the food is delicious. I had the salmon tonight and it was cooked perfectly. Will return again soon!”

“Here for the Christmas market, lots of vendor setup. Super busy, parking was almost impossible. They should probably spread out the days a little bit. We got mulled wine, apple cider and grilled cheese. Overall a cool place, drinks and food were good. Just a little bit too crowded like a zoo on this Christmas market day.”

”This place was recommended by our host at the Inn. I recommend reservations as the only have about 8 to 10 tables. Inside. During the warmer weather, the enclosed porch would allow for more. Don't be fooled by the look of this place. The food was top notch. I'm not sure who the chef is in the back, but everything was amazing. Get the Pulled Pork & How Cakes!! We lobed them. We also had the Wild Mushroom Stroganoff and it was terrific. Our server was a real treat and we loved her too! Don't miss this place.”

”Me and my family went here on a limb and I'm so glad we did. The food was amazing and service was great! I will say, we didn't realize we had to wait be seated so we sat at a random table so I apologize to the staff for that 😭 Despite that, as I said the food was delicious and our waiter was so kind! The only "issue" I had was it is just a tiny bit too pricey (It was around $60-$70 for 3 people including 2 slices of cheesecake), but nothing to bad to stop me from coming back!”

Side walks surrounding the gravel lot, allowing women to still wear heels and not have to walk in the gravel all the way to the door. We were 20 minutes early for our reservation and got seated right away with our water just steps behind us. Everything we ordered was above and beyond. I had no idea chicken could taste so flavorful, juicy, and light. The asparagus and mashed potatoes were a perfect pairing. We both were scrapping our plates trying to savor the food we just had. And they were good sized portions! The only place we have eaten at that is better than Gordon Ramsey’s, and it is a 3rd of the price! Book a reservation right now. You will not regret it, only that you should have tried it sooner. We can not wait to go back!”

”True Score- 4.56/5 Stars This experience was honestly incredible. The food was excellent, the service was fantastic, and the facilities were great. Interestingly, this is apace where you can either spend a lot of money, or even stay under 100 and have a fantastic meal. We started the evening with the Bitterballen, and honestly, the dish was extremely disappointing. The balls were very small, and for 10 dollars, you only get 5 of them They tasted great enough, but I would strongly advise against ordering them unless they up the quantity. With that, we also each had a Kentucky Sunset, which was a great cocktail. We each ordered the ribeye, and it was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. One of the best steaks I have ever had. We ordered two sides, the hotsput and the Dutch Mac and Cheese. Both were so good, and also served in sharable portions. The hotsput was nothing like anything I have ever had (in a good way) and the Mac and cheese was very creamy but not liquid-y. We finished the night with an order of the boterkoek, which was sweet and delicious. Service was extraordinary. Our server was so personable, easy going, and timely. I believe service can make or break an experience, and frankly every restaurant should aspire to be like Lisse in this regard. I believe John F(?) was our server, and he was great! Cost was great. Many dishes are pretty cheap, however you can also go pretty big here. For everything we got, it was roughly 250 dollars, but you could easily come here and spend under 100 for two people. Very versatile financially which I think is AWESOME! The restaurant had beautiful design inside and out. It felt very clean, modern, and upscale. Pretty casual dress code, and overall a comfortable place. My favorite part was the stained glass on the first floor! I believe there is rooftop seating, but I did not get to go up there. Overall, one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The appetizer was the only flaw on this beautiful restaurant. I would love love love to come back, and I will be suggesting it to anybody that I know. This place has a patio that you would not believe by looking at the front of the building! Super cool hangout spot, and they were gracious enough to accommodate our bike night. I definitely will return for some more of that draft root beer.”
