“We enjoyed our stay so much last month that we booked rooms for our adult children/grandbabies to join us here for Christmas weekend!!! The rooms are spacious, clean, and well stocked. The breakfast is outstanding and the area kept Tidy. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. They were helpful with suggestions for the area. We are so looking forward to enjoying another wonderful weekend in Louisville and super excited to enjoy with our family at this hotel. We hope they continue to set the bar for downtown lodging!! Thank you to the wonderful staff at Homewood Suites Downtown Louisville!!! FOLLOW UP: We stayed here Dec 23rd with our adult children and grandbabies. What a delight this has been!!! Richard (?) at check in has been wonderful! He provided us an Elf on the Shelf to entertain the kids while here. He also gave us a Cookie Decorating Kit and we spent the evening decorating cookies for Santa's arrival tonight. He provided extra towels for the pool. He is always smiling and checking on everyone. The breakfast area is super clean and the lady works hard keeping everything fresh and stocked. There were zero issues with our vehicles/parking. There is a charge for parking. I am not sure why people expect free parking when staying down town. Nothing is free anymore! However, the smiles and attentiveness at this hotel are very much free and they go above and beyond!!! 👏 👏 👏 Do not hesitate to stay here if you are seeing a show at the Performing Arts Center. It is a very short walk. This will continue to be our choice when we are in town.”

The swapped us rooms instantly and also offered a room upgrade if we wanted. The breakfast the next morning was great and just what we needed to start the day off.”

Everytime I came through the lobby the employees were working very hard cleaning something - mopping the floor, cleaning the elevator, etc. I actually told the lady at check out that I don't think I've ever stayed in a hotel and seen so much cleaning going on. Free breakfast was nice, beds were comfy and I really need some of those pillows for my house! Unfortunately, we were too busy to try the pool or fitness area but both areas looked clean and welcoming.”

”So I know this isn't what some people call a 5 star hotel, but in the land of "normal people" hotels this one is great. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the sheets were very nice. We had to drag ourselves out of them very reluctantly before getting back on the road. Breakfast was nice. Standard fare, but with the addition of bacon and mini omelettes. There is a pool which seems nice. We didn't partake, but still a great amenity. So honestly it's just a nice stay with good service and enforced quiet hours, so it's a win all around.”

”We came to Louisville from Cincinnati to spend time with in-laws chose this hotel, because of its pool. Upon arrival, there’s a sign from the department of health condemning the pool, saying it wasn’t safe, guessing the green water was an issue, none of the ice machines on the floors worked,went down to the front desk to inquire about ice and they told me to go to the bar, I went to the bar and the gentleman that was working there said someone would be back in 10 or 15 minutes. Beds where comfortable, the hide a bed had no linens, mattress was thin and had what appeared to be a blood stain on it, we quickly folded it and went to Walmart and bought an air mattress! Looked at the breakfast bar they offered at $10/person and as a former chef I would NEVER Allow that quality of food in my kitchen or out of my kitchen, really only positive I could share is we were on the flight path for SDF so could sit on the bed and watch the planes fly by.. definitely WILL NOT BE BACK”

”Regina, who checked us in, had exceptional customer service. She was quick to the counter, quick getting through the check-in process, and knew exactly all of the information I needed so we could get up to our room and settled in quickly. It was great service with a smile. The hotel was very clean, both in appearance and smell (no smoke or musty smell, even in the stairwell!). The pool was in good shape and the water was cool but not uncomfortably cold. The exercise room was clean, but the elliptical machine was broken at the time of our visit. The room was clean and well stocked with linens. The mini fridge in the room did not have a freezer area but fortunately they had an ice machine so we were able to put ice in our cooler to keep our food fresh on the next leg of the journey. The water pressure in the shower was great if you put it on piping hot, but terrible if you turned down the water temperature at all. Getting the kids washed up was difficult. Breakfast was fantastic: hot with many options and the option to make your own waffle, which we love. Overall 4.5 stars. If not for the elliptical and water pressure issue, this would be a 5 start review. We would stay here again.”

”Overall this was a nice place to stay. However, do not expect anything super nice. The bathroom was very small, which wasn't a big deal-except there really wasn't anywhere for us to hang our towels. The faucet leaked when turned on all the way. The shower would randomly get EXTREMELY hot, and the drain was super small so the tub kept getting backed up while you were standing in it. Breakfast was included with the stay, but it wasn't nothing to brag about. There wasn't any real food to be had, other than a few pieces of fruit. Husband & son had waffles, I took a bite... They were like eating balloons. The eggs I had didn't taste good and had a very weird texture. But! Even with the bad breakfast and the bathroom problems, we enjoyed our stay. We needed a place to shower after camping for a few days and we were able to walk in here and get a room right away. The girls at the front desk were awesome to talk to, very very kind people! The building is really pretty, and it's situated in an interesting spot. For a nights stay we were happy. If you just need somewhere to stay I do recommend staying here, just don't expect anything fancy!”

”The absolute worst experience. We rented a room for the kids to swim. The price online was significantly different than when we checked in. Room price was $125, check in price was $178. We booked the hotel online for the price of $125. Whatever, no big deal, we’ll roll with it. So we get in there, immediately take kids to swim at the pool. My daughter’s head bumped the emergency phone that’s NOT in a case or protected in case of any sort of accident. She bumped it with her head, knocked it off and immediately picked it up and put it back. In STORMS the manager and she starts yelling at us, saying we have knocked it off multiple times and that the police are called every single time. We said what? It was once, on accident. The kids weren’t running, they weren’t horsing around, she was just standing there eating pizza and bumped it. We did NOT stay the night. We just wanted the room so her and a few friends would swim. So the next day I call to make sure check out went smooth, and that we’d receive our incidentals fee back. Immediately the woman was INCREDIBLY nasty to us. She said that we never paid for the room, that we’ve been put on alert and cannot stay at another holiday inn until we’ve paid. I said what? I paid with my debit card at check in. The money has been taken from my account. She said that money was put on hold, and when we tried to charge your card again, it was denied. I said because you are now trying to charge me $400 for a room we didn’t even stay in. We went around and around over this and got no where. So, I am out almost $200, and can no longer stay in a holiday inn hotel. 10/10 worst hotel experience ever. Would absolutely never go back.”
