“My husband & I have been coming to Welaka Lodge for 7 years. We always enjoyed the old Florida atmosphere and the cozy cabins. I’m very sad to say that this time (Nov 17, 2023) was VERY different. We were greeted by roaches in the kitchen & bathroom. The toilet was loose on the floor due to rusted bolts (they did come out and fix this) the shower head leaked, the hot water constantly ran out, the finial on the railing at the front porch was not secure making an extreme safety issue, the ice maker didn’t work, we couldn’t get the stove to work and when we called and left a message at the office, no one ever returned our call... turns out the front burner wasn’t working. The floors were so filthy that the bottoms of our feet were black. I literally took pictures and showed them to the lady in the office and I heard every excuse in the book. What happened to this place? It’s gone downhill with the new management. They advertise the boat bar and yet when we went there, the girls behind the bar never even acknowledged us, we left and took our business to Shrimps R Us... and shared our experience with several other people there. Sadly, we won’t be returning. We didn’t plan for and spend our hard earned money to go and live in filth. Happy to be back home in Port Orange!”

“We’ve gone as 3 different families, the past 4 years- all renting the waterfront cabins. We can bring the boat and dock it right in front of the cabin. There’s a restaurant to eat dinner at with live music within walking distance from cabins. There’s a pool & huge inflatable slide the kids love. There’s a remember jungle gym type of park for the kids. There’s a hall they serve good and inexpensive breakfast at each morning. Able to do laundry. Pet friendly. A huge public fire pit with swinging benches. Honestly it has everything. We love it here!!!”

“Depending what your idea of camping should be this place will either be a big disappointment or acceptable as you can see by other reviews. However, as stated the road noise from the interstate is overwhelming. If you are driving a rig that you take a great deal of pride in be aware that when it rains your rig will covered with dirt. The gravel sites are surrounded by dirt. the sites are spacious. Be aware that access to this facility is easy coming off the interstate from the east or west. However, departing the campground is another issue. You cannot make a left turn on exiting. So, to get back onto the interstate you must make a u-turn in the Exxon station across the road. This is a remote location. shopping and restaurants are 10 miles away. The staff is very friendly.”

“We stayed 1 night while traveling from Miami to Key West. There is a vintage charm about this place. The room had been updated and was clean and welcoming. The heated pool did not disappoint... such a great way to end a busy day. Would absolutely stay again!”

8991 Triplett Rd, North Fort Myers, FL 33917, United States

“During my stay the office closed early and opened late. Daily leaf blowing started promptly dry 7 am. Occasionally earlier with the "quiet" bowers There were ants everywhere, we ended up having to bug bomb our camper when we got home. But it is affordable, about an hour from the beach and the restrooms are clean”

”Used to be a nice place, they have a very nice pool and hot tub, also a small sauna which is very popular in winter. The place is more like a rustic campground, I would not call it a resort. Some of the staff are rude, others are as accomodating as possible, there is a French Canadian guy in the office, super nice guy. Avoid the place if you're allergic to mosquitoes as they outnumber the residents/visitors at least 6 to 1. The drumcircle night used to be nice and free, then they started charging $5 then $10 and more recently $15. The first visit is no longer free. They have raised prices left and right but do not spend the money to improve the place. Management does not run the place as a business more like their own little kingdom.”

”We enjoyed our stay very much. The folks that work here were super nice, especially the woman in the office. Yes the lots are very tight but a nice gentleman who works there helped us back in. The park was decorated for Christmas and they had a golf cart parade! Every golf cart was decorated. How fun! We had one issue with a woman that has a German Shepherd. Her dog was horribly aggressive and he wanted to eat us every time we walked by. Then we saw her walking the dog with a muzzle. I read another review from a man that has two dogs, both he claims are well behaved. I trust him more than this woman. She had no control of this dog while she walked him either. She also has a small dog, not sure of the breed. This woman should not be allowed to have that German shepherd in the park. He is dangerous and in dire need of training. Otherwise we had a great stay.”
