“We LOVE glamping at Coldwater Gardens. It’s a beautiful location, the sand bars are nice and secluded and the accommodations are just what you need to camp comfortably! I look forward to many more vacations spent here as my kids grow and many more memories made! “This was our second year at Big Pine Key Resort, and there have been improvements made to the campground, which include much needed additional staffing and campsites that have enhanced our experience. The staff is stellar with their customer service and responsiveness, diplomacy and handling and managing hundreds of campers on a daily basis. the grounds are maintained by a fantastic and capable staff, including but not limited to Andy, Scott and Cameron! Front desk staff was most excellent, and I really enjoyed interacting with Savannah, Trish, Melissa and Colleen on a daily basis. They are top-notch! “Nice enough campground. About a 5minute drive from the beach. Our site is a bit of a lake everytime it rains and gets quite muddy. The restrooms aren't very clean as far as sweeping the floor etc. Showers are fairly large and private, rinsed out daily but still quite filthy, full of people's hair etc. The grounds are well kept.”

Pool is perfect temp. My son fished all day long from the dock and had manatees swim right under him twice. Highly, highly recommend!”

“Was fantastic, bathrooms were clean, dog park was small but good for what I needed, just to potty of leash, only issue was trying to get acrossed a busy street at peak times. People need to slow down and let others get acrossed the street. Having a dolphin 5 feet next to me was incredible. Jelly fish not so much.”

”We’ve gone as 3 different families, the past 4 years- all renting the waterfront cabins. We can bring the boat and dock it right in front of the cabin. There’s a restaurant to eat dinner at with live music within walking distance from cabins. There’s a pool & huge inflatable slide the kids love. There’s a remember jungle gym type of park for the kids. There’s a hall they serve good and inexpensive breakfast at each morning. Able to do laundry. Pet friendly. A huge public fire pit with swinging benches. Honestly it has everything. We love it here!!!”

”Depending what your idea of camping should be this place will either be a big disappointment or acceptable as you can see by other reviews. However, as stated the road noise from the interstate is overwhelming. If you are driving a rig that you take a great deal of pride in be aware that when it rains your rig will covered with dirt. The gravel sites are surrounded by dirt. the sites are spacious. Be aware that access to this facility is easy coming off the interstate from the east or west. However, departing the campground is another issue. You cannot make a left turn on exiting. So, to get back onto the interstate you must make a u-turn in the Exxon station across the road. This is a remote location. shopping and restaurants are 10 miles away. The staff is very friendly.”

”Do not stay at this hotel. The rooms had a terrible smell and the rugs in the rooms are dirty. I had to purchase a plug in for the room. We had a total of three rooms and they all smelled. The staff at the front desk was always outside smoking and hanging out never at the desk. The bath clothes had holes in them. I always bring disposable sheets and pillowcases on all of my trips, I am so glad I had them this trip. The rooms are old and moderately clean. The breakfast is not worth it. We made reservations for 5 days and everyday we had to go to the desk to get our key cards activated, I don’t know why because normally your card key is activated for your stay. The staff do not care about any of your needs. This was a very unhappy stay for me. We are Hilton Honors members and I started to go across the street to Holiday Inn Express but my husband wanted to keep all his points. DONOT STAY HERE. A Waste of money.”

However, based on personal preference, I can't give 5 stars due to the campground sitting directly on a busy highway. The road noise takes away from a peaceful evening of sitting by the campfire. Other than that, I only have positive things to say.”

Residents were super nice, and the place hosts many daily events including serving food and social evenings. There is a whole calendar of events available.
