“Used to love this hotel but now it gets two stars. I am a Hilton Honors member and checked in online with a digital key. When I got to the hotel and proceeded to my room the man at the front desk screamed at me “where are you going!” and forced me to wait in line and check in again although I was already checked in. The next day when I asked for towels and my complimentary water the manager had the nerve to say I should have gotten it yesterday. This was our 4th trip and we will not be returning. There was a guy on a bike with a backpack riding through the parking lot soliciting people to buy drugs who approached me getting out of my car. Told the girl at the front desk but she opted to just flirt with my boyfriend hard in front of me instead of rectifying the situation Stay away!”

“The place is under renovation… Our room smelled like sewage… When I brought it to the attention of the front desk clerk, he said what do you expect? It’s a 40-year-old Hotel what do you want me to do about it… We got a new room That smelled musty but not of sewage… Carpets are old, worn and very musty. The place is a dump. . The breakfast in the morning was not too bad, but the eating area was very dusty and under construction.”

“This hotel was easy to find and convient to book. The price was good. The room was a good size, t.v. was small but expected. A bit difficult to get on the wifi so I stop trying. The bathroom amentities were good and love the fridge in the room. The pull out couch needs to be replaced the mattress was horrible and they didnt have any linen in the room for it. Please replace the couch, we needed the 3rd bed and it was horrible. Overall the staff was friendly and took our pictures in front of the beautiful christmas tree. I would stay again when in Fl from S.C. Thanks.”

”I just love this hotel, staff, rooms and location. They truly treat you like family. I appreciate Jahfrica who worked at the front desk during most of my lastest stay February 11-14, 2024. She went out of her way to make me feel comfortable, she went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service and to make sure that I was well taken care of. In addition, during my stay I also had great customer service from Rachel, Ingrid and Tim, the General Manager. In addition, my room was very clean, a great size and the bed was so comfortable... The free hot breakfast was delicious and had a great variety for all. I would 100% recommend this hotel and I plan on staying there the next time I travel.”

”We are so glad we chose this hotel! After doing LOTS of research on where to stay in South Beach, we decided to book at the Cardozo and it was the absolute best decision we could have made. Stephen the manager (and his cute dog, Vader) were so incredibly friendly, and hospitable. Upon arrival, we were met with a very warm welcome, since he remembered me from booking over the phone a few months back. We checked in to our initial room (the King Suite) and were blown away at the luxurious feel and sheer size. A few minutes later, a knock at the door and it was our new friend Stephen who asked if we would like to upgrade to the room next door. Turns out this room was even more incredible and boasted 3 gorgeous bathrooms, a dining area, a living area, and lounge area, and a king bedroom. It was absolutely gorgeous! Clean, modern, updated and HUGE! Myself and my 2 girlfriends had more than enough room to hang out and even have our friends party in this room. Highly recommend if you are ever visiting South Beach. The restaurant downstairs had great food and drinks, with live music and a vibrant atmosphere, We loved it here 10/10!”

”Stayed here for a week with my wife, we rented mopeds and zipped all over the island - it was a blast. Walking distance to literally everything. Steps from Blue Heaven and Rams Head restaurants, and others. You can text or phone your breakfast choices to the front office and they bring it up to your room in a cute little basket. Complimentary mimosas every morning was so nice. Easy check in process. Quiet area at night. Rooms are indeed tight, but enough for 2 people, and this is advertised, so it wasn't a surprise. It's a very pretty Victorian building. Wifi was great. Overall this was a perfect stay for us and at a great price point for what we got!”

It has character unlike chain hotels, the perfect off highway location (no highway noise), plenty of on site activities, beautiful clean grounds, great pool and deck, lush landscaping and best of all - a great welcoming staff, especially April. The small marina/dock is nice to catch a charter fishing trip just steps away from your room, and it's also fun for the kids to do some fishing, watching sunrises and sunsets, wildlife and stargazing at night.”

The grounds and facilities are always clean and the people that run it are always professional and polite. Check out Little Jimi's bait and tackle. It's a decent place to grab a bite and a cold beer.”
