“Steak night was an absolute let down! I love Prince Alfred usually for regular food. But when you’re paying $41 for an eyefillet on steak night, it shouldn’t be so over cooked. I had ordered medium rare, but the steak was medium well, more so well done. The sticky date pudding was so small and stale!!! They cut the proportion in half than the usual regular amount! So disappointing. My friend and I were hungry so we ate it. I felt bad for lovely waitress, it was just her running on the floor trying to manage the tables and also the function upstairs. Whilst the bar staff at the front and back just watched her running around. The waitress is an absolute gem! An overseas worker but man she deserves an award! I saw her the past Saturday running around too. Clearly the plane needs more waiters/waitresses or people who want to work like her!”

“We had lunch today at The Rose, it was a beautiful experience. The owner was very personable the service was fantastic. We all enjoyed our meals and very reasonable prices. The lunch menu was $20 for all dishes. I had a rump steak and salad it was cooked to perfection rare to medium, the other parties had beer battered fish chips and salad. Would recommend to everyone to go and have lunch. We will certainly go back next time we are back in town.”

To sum up, there’s lots of footy screens which is great however in terms of the food, the beef burger is ok (bun is burnt though), the bbq chicken pizza is plain awful (toppings just completely fall off) and it all seems overpriced for the quality. Some decent beers on tap though (in particular the 4 Pines Japanese Lager). Overall, I would look for other options in the area if you’re after a sports pub.”

“Great Pub - Local Favorite! We’ve been coming here for years, the service is great, the pints are always cold and the food tasty! I normally can’t go past the Beef and Guinness pie, not to say the other options aren’t as good but this is a house classic! They have live music, sometimes a solo set and sometimes trad Irish session. The trad sessions are always fun, try and sit still and not tap along…”

The only constructive feedback I can offer would be not to downsize the cup to extra small if a customer opts for no ice… at a price point of almost $14 a cup, well, it just feels a tad bit overpriced!
