“One of the oldest Japanese eatery in Melbourne which started as a small shop in front of the Melbourne state library and now they open a number of branch but unfortunately close their original shop. Food wise is the same except that they introduce more variety such as the chicken kara age dishes. However my favourite is still for their curry bbq chicken and their original teriyaki chicken. We bought the chicken kara age variety as their original bbq chicken teriyaki and curry ran out 🙄”

“To be fair and to be honest, they are the best in Melbourne by far. Absolutely the freshest and the most authentic sweets and pastry in the town. Great range and variety plus fair pricing compared to others. We usually get some takeaway, and half of it is already gone by the time we get home. I know this photo is not the best to judge their level of quality, but I'll upload a new one on the next visit. We love the way they wrap the sweets and baklavas in a nice tray and put a ribbon on it. Makes it so special, so the presentation is world-class for a takeaway pastry. We did not have to wait for much longer for the food thpugh there were few inside the cafe at that moment. We really enjoy the time there. And they had some offers going on for lunch too. The Summer Dream cocktail with yuzu and passionfruit, and the Japanese gin & tonic were really smooth and sweet with no weird aftertaste. First time trying bao buns, I had the pork belly and it was beautiful. Karaage chicken wasn’t the absolute best I’ve had but it was still great and their sauce with it was incredible- so sweet but not overpowering. It would be better if they did normal fries- the sweet potato fries were a bit plain and needed more seasoning. Overall, what they do well, they do REALLY well. I’ll be back to try the spring rolls and more drinks!”
