“Went here on a whim after a day at Universal Studios -- my wife and I are both on SoCal but have lived out of state for several years. Whenever we're back we MUST get some amazing food from some of our favorite chefs, and I'd long wanted to check out one of Chef Antonia's restaurants. We knew we needed to be close to DTLA to see a movie at Alamo Drafthouse and this was the perfect stop right before the movie. We had phenomenal service and stunningly good food -- elevated tapas that don't lose their grounding in the ingredients and the heritage of the dishes. We didn't have a bad bite. All the large plates are probably great but we loved getting 5 or so small plates and each got the sangria, which came with seasonal fruit and brandy and amaretto. What a great mix and perfect for a hot summer day. I'll be stealing that recipe. We got the empanadas, guacamole, arepa, and calamari and thru were each lights out. If we didn't have to catch a movie we could have easily ordered 3 or more additional plates. Perfect portions to where you feel each one is worth the money but you also don't feel like you're going to starve. Super yummy... you could easily spend a couple hours here and couldn't possibly have a bad time. We'll be back!”

“We’ve been patronizing this restaurant for over 15 years now. It’s a cozy spot for some familiar flavors. Some of the staff have turned over since the pandemic but I’m glad Viva Madrid is still vibrant. We usually hang out at the bar and order a few of our favorite tapas. The house sangria is a must have. It’s one of those places that you need to visit more than once to taste the variety of items on the menu and compile a list of favorites. Consider starting with a green olives, batatas-bravas, jamon y queso, then graduate to mushrooms and chorizo, oxtail stew and/or squiring cooked in its ink. Like I said, it takes a few visits to figure out what you like.”

“So this is my review of this place. Sincerely, it is one of the best places I have been near Venice Beach (it's on Main Street and Navy) 1. Decoration 10/10 Decoration is well done, and they keep it in good condition. 2. Service 10/10 wow from the host to the waiter, buzz boy, and especially the bartender 👌 they know how to make incredible cocktail. (Look at the picture) 3. Ambiance 10/10 the Ambiance is amazing friendly, not to Loud, there TV , music bravo 👏 🙌 4. Food 10/10 amazing tasty food , well prepared, creative, the have happy hours if you don't have a lot of money but want to impress a date 😉. I had grilled octopus 👌. (Look at pictures) 5. Cleanest 10/10 one of the most clean places I have been, even the restroom, smell good 👍. I really recommend this places. At least try it once you'll not regret it. Hats 🎩 off.”

“Everything was absolutely delicious, staff was fast and ready to serve and make every table feel special. The food was amazing, we had the salmon and the lamb. The salmon melts in your mouth and tastes so fresh! The lamb was absolutely amazing and tasted so robust. The owner Alejandro is very personable and great to his customers. I will definitely be back again for my next special occasion.”

“Let me just get this out of the way, pricey but worth it!!! I don't know who's in kitchen but this is perfect Japanese Peruvian cuisine. My group had the pisco basil cocktail, the grilled octopus, the quinoa salad, the fisherman's ceviche, the seared scallops, and a maracuya juice. There's $8 parking or street parking. After 6pm the parking is free. Nice decor and patio. Friendly, and polite service. Highly recommend if you want the best and you're feeling spendy.”
