“We decided to stop here while in the area and got an avocado toast, an eggplant and feta toast, and a slice of multilayer chocolate cake. We also got a couple of coffee drinks. Inside was comforting and homey and it really had a strong neighborhood vibe to the place. The workers there all seemed busy and were friendly. They originally got one of our orders wrong, but they were quick to fix it and very nice about it. It's always great to see how businesses handle things like this. Honestly the food was outstanding. I didn't expect the avocado toast to be so delicious, but the avocado was perfect and the toast was big and crunchy. It was perfectly positioned between being strong enough to support the toppings, but soft enough to be delicate to chew easily. The eggplant and feta toast was just as good. The multilayer chocolate cake was sinfully divine. Everything you want in a chocolate cake -- moist, gooey with frosting, and deep dark chocolatey taste. YUM.”

“Context: Went with one other person for the Christmas Eve dinner at 7:30 PM or so. They had a 4 course Christmas menu for $95 per person, which looked like it consisted of normal menu items but smaller and fitting a set menu. Course 1: Appetizers We got a winter salad and lobster bisque. The lobster bisque was more like lobster soup with some chunks of lobster. I don't think it actually contained cream, making it watery, but the lobster flavor was intense, and it was good overall if you like briney things. The winter salad was comparatively stingy, consisting of berries on arugula with a vinaigrette. The vinaigrette was salty and tangy and probably the best part of the dish. The berries and arugula were tasty, but sparse. For example, there were literally two blackberries and a pinch of julienned apples in the whole dish. The blueberries and pomegranate seeds were a bit more abundant, but the arugula itself was meager in portion. Kind of disappointing for the beginning of a nearly $100 meal. Course 2: Small bites/Hors d'oeuvres We ordered their caviar and smoked salmon crostini and American wagyu bites. There were two nonuniform crostini with a small piece of smoked salmon, goat cheese(?), and caviar on top. The salmon was so strong as to overpower any nuance or delicacy of the other components of the dish. Overall disappointing (the salmon was tasty, though). The American wagyu bites were a lot better. Chunks of grilled beef came in a soup/sauce with a piece of grilled bread on top. Everything about the dish was fantastic. The sauce was some kind of (tastefully) spicy tomato-based sauce that was flavorful without being overwhelming. It was almost bowl-licking good. If they have this in their regular menu, I would highly recommend it. The beef was tender and flavorful, with some char for contrast. Even the bread was delightful and the grill marks added tasty intrigue (did that make sense? In any case, it was good). The meal started to turn around at this point. Course 3: Main course We got a pan roasted half jidori chicken and a Maine lobster risotto. They were both great. Even a half chicken (wing, thigh, leg, and breast) was a decent amount of food. The breast was a little dry, unfortunately, but the rest of the chicken was flavorful and juicy. It looked like they marinate their chicken with a layer of yogurt or goat cheese between the skin and the meat, which added a nice punch to an already decent chicken. I honestly couldn't tell that much of a difference between a standard supermarket chicken and this Jidori chicken, but it was good in any case. The other garnishes were nice, but I must give a shoutout to the cipollini onions - so tasty. The risotto's texture was not quite chewy and not quite crunchy, but just right. The primary flavor was that of tarragon and lobster. They were generous with the lobster chunks. It was filling and never tiring - a great entree and experience. Course 4: Desserts We got the pistachio gelato and Mama's tiramisu. We were actually debating between the flourless chocolate cake and the tiramisu, but were told that the cake was quite sweet and the tiramisu is less so. The tiramisu ended up being the right amount of sweetness to balance the bitterness from the chocolate and coffee flavors. It was unlike most tiramisus I've had and more like a cake in its textures and layers (no lady fingers or biscuits). However, it was great. Each layer was distinct and tasty. We were told that they use Bailey's Irish cream, so just a warning to those who might be sensitive to alcohol. Miscellaneous: Service was excellent and servers were attentive. Food came out fairly quickly for a busy day. There was a service fee and a mandatory gratuity that were calculated on the post-tax total. So the 3.5% service fee was actually 3.9% and the mandatory gratuity (if applicable) was 22% rather than 20% as listed. Reasonable but shady, I thought. Even for Seattle, I'd probably not want to pay more than $75 for what was served here taking into account quality and (lack of) originality. 3/5”

“First time here, though we've driven by dozens (hundreds?) of times. Busy at 9am on a Saturday, as you'd expect, but not crazy busy. We were seated quickly, had coffee before even sitting down. Order was taken a few minutes later, food arrived in 10-15 minutes. Irish omelet was delicious! Friendly staff, no complaints.”

Goldfinch Tavern

”Lived up to the hype and then some. Menu was thoughtful, service knowledgeable and friendly, chef very accommodating of gluten free adjustments (had gf pasta and bread available and open to substitutions even on happy hour menu), portions were shareable, food was delectable locavore fare, drinks were innovative, and waterfront view was the cherry on top. Overall a luxurious experience at a reasonable price point. Lovely lunch with friend after the SAM Hokusai exhibit - this will be a new tradition. Park 1 block up hill at the garage on Union (under the SAM) or use valet. We were able to book able for 2 with a view with a phone call at 2.30pm on Saturday - less than 5 minute wait. Recommend reservations for peak times.”

”The pancake was incredible! Definitely an all around winner with our group. The staff is great, the coffee was nice, and everyone liked their food. Individually we got the seasonal hash (a bit spicy), the loco moco, and the eggs Benedict and then split the pancake and had leftovers. It was really wonderful.”

”Ye Ole 'Northern Exposure' haunt from a by-gone era - when times were simpler and folks were kinder. I had the BLT and my son had the poached eggs. Both delicious and the service was really great considering how busy the Cafe was right after the doors opened. Charming and a soulful is how I would describe the vibe here.”

Le Sel Bistro

”They have a delicious french-inspired menu that makes brunch here a real gem. Pork belly or filet eggs benny? Yes please! The service was great and they have a cozy indoor space for seating that is fairly small. They also have a medium-sized patio with heaters and blankets so winter time is no big deal. We were able to get a table with no reservation on a Sunday but we also arrived right when they opened. I would def recommend a reservation if you have a time limit, larger party, or want to go during a popular time. I do wish they had more options on pastries.”

”This was a wonderful find! The food was 10/10 for all our meals. Their chicken tacos are the best I have had and my husband said the same about the pot roast. I took photos to share but the food was so good I only have empty plates or ones that we couldn't wait to dive into. The service was outstanding. We felt very welcomed and we were treated as if we were regulars. Everyone was so incredibly friendly and accommodating. The show venue is very professional but with a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend checking Aurora Borealis out, we will definitely be back.”

”Where do I begin. The staff was super nice and greeted us as we came in. Our waitress gave us some food good recommendations. Two of us shared the mussels, prime rib with smashed potatoes and butternut squash, and a half Green and Grains salad. The mussels were probably some of the best I have ever had. Served in a tomato soup type sauce with baked bread. To die for. The steak was cooked perfectly, and it was huge, and came with yummy garlic butter on top. The smashed potatoes were amazing. Crispy on the outside and soft inside. The salad was yummy and had just the right amount of everything. We were totally stuffed and glad we shared the entree. Definitely going back!”

”We checked out this restaurant before making a holiday reservation. Good thing we did. I got the corned beef hash. It was awful. It was a stringy, fatty mess. The chunks of potato were half raw. The eggs that came with were bland, the hash browns were okay. Partner had the biscuits and gravy, he said the biscuits were just weird lumps of bread, and the gravy was dry and not enough of it. The coffee was weak. The server was nice and attentive, though.”

”My wife loves congee. This place hit the spot. Sadly, they are a gem and have been found. They were sold out of everything and had a crazy line/wait. It's worth it. Just get there early, be prepared to sit outside if needed (wear warm clothing and let the warm congee heat you up). The food is incredible. We ordered the beef and kimchi congee (substituted shrimp) and my wife ordered the meatball congee. Both were decadent! HIGHLY advise this place as a Seattle Gem to stop in.”

”I bought two teas for 349 and the JoJos were supposed to be 649, but I ask for two extra and it ended up coming to $19.70 do you think that sounds right? Because it doesn’t sound right to me, God I wish I could upload the picture of what I just paid for because honestly if I had seen it before I walked out of the store, I would’ve never bought that, What a rip off. Other than stuff like this, the store is pretty nice, and it is convenient All of the workers are nice except for one which is more than you could ask for in the store these days am I right.”
