“We spent the weekend here to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We would come back, but with some changes to our reservation most likely. Pros: Location is fantastic, close enough to be within 15 minutes of pretty much everything. But far enough away from the casino crowds. You can walk right out onto the beach. Beach views are great, there is a boardwalk right off the parking garage that you can take to walk to about 4-5 restaurants within less than a mile. Staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Definitely well trained and knowledgeable. Room was very spacious and super clean. It was much larger than any hotel room or even suite I've stayed in before. And we were very impressed with how clean it was. Loved the Terrace Bar for drinks and watching the sunset. Cons: The photos on the website were a bit misleading in terms of what sort of view you were going to get. At least, that was the case in our room. We reserved a partial ocean view, which technically we got. But when they say partial, it was probably less than 10% of our view. We were on the front of the building, more than half of our view was of the street. This also meant that we had a lot of street noise at night, making it hard to fall asleep. And we were here in the off season, I can't imagine how much worse it would be in the summer. The bed could use an upgrade, the mattress wasn't very comfortable. (Though the pillows were excellent). Parking garage was hard to get out of if you pulled in and it was full, always had to park in one of the side parking lots. The continental breakfast was just eh, nothing special about it and pretty much on par with other hotels. But the lady that was handling the breakfast bar was very nice and super accommodating. If you're planning to book a room, either spring for the full ocean view or request that your partial ocean view be on the fifth floor or above. But all in all, we'd definitely come back for a weekend trip with or without the kids. Seems to be very family friendly.”

We were on the road traveling for business and had some mechanical issues and at the last minute and a busy weekend they made room for us. ”Make sure your room isn’t facing the interstate. If not, you won’t be able to sleep due to the constant traffic of 55. But that actually wasn’t the biggest issue. I get into my room and use the thermostat on the wall and turn the heater on. Only problem is, the thermostat doesn’t work. Quick call to have maintenance come up and turn on the unit from the actual unit. Only problem, there is no thermostat on the unit. So it blows all night long. Imagine waking up in hell and just having to turn the unit off because AUTO doesn’t work and who can sleep with the heater blowing on one setting all night. After a long drive and even longer work day, it wasn’t worth the hassle to fight with the front desk about the problems but this hotel has been added to my never again list. As a Hilton Diamond member I am very disappointed.”

”As I drove up to the hotel I didn’t feel very safe. There were a few cars and several people sitting in their cars. Exactly across the street is a Circle K gas station. The lobby area was dark and the reception area was extremely compact. The night reception, a male, was not welcoming at all. He did not welcome me and I initiated the conversation. He did not mention the hotels amenities or time that breakfast was offered. As previous reviews mentioned there is an odor in the place. Like body odor or musty smell. It wasn’t a fresh scent. My room was nicely decorated but when I took a closer look the wear and tear was obvious. A screw was missing from the security lock. The bed had two serious dips and an odor. I had 6 small pillows on the bed and the linen was extremely wrinkled. The furniture has a lot of dings from age and use. The microwave on the outside was in need of a good cleaning. The coffee maker was fine but there were not sugar, creamer, stir sticks to make coffee. The vanity was nice and the Dove products were a plus. Next trip I will do more research instead of trusting a brand.”

”When we booked the room the lady was very difficult to talk to and understand. Check in went smoothly but when we walked in the room the TV had been left on. Never had that before. We checked the room over and deemed it safe so stayed. The bedding was ok for a hotel. The continental breakfast was out of a lot of items and the lady running it was over at the counter talking with the lady behind the desk the whole time I was eating. There just seemed to be a lack of pride or care which was disappointing since this is a Marriott chain hotel.”

”I came here from California and the pricing for the room was great. I thought the beds were very comfortable. The parking was good and amenities were good. The problem was I could feel the judgment from the people working there except for one lady when I checked out was very nice. The train didn't bother me because I'm used to it being loud in California. But the food was the most disgusting food i've ever had. I didn't have one good meal in general in this entire state. In my whole trip and I was sick the whole time because of it. I mean, the people that think that the food is good are probably just used to bad food and never had real good food before. The only thing that was okay was the coffee and the waffle maker, and that's it. Also one of the ladies told my daughter to stop playing with the food. But in reality my daughter is 8 years old and I let her cook at home with me. And all she was doing was opening the lid. Grabbing the tongs to get herself an egg and closing it like a grown up. Also absolutely no first aid kit anywhere? Every single hotel has a first aid kit nd i've been the over 50 hotels.”

”The hotel is old and dated, but for the most part, it is clean. However, the bathtub had stains in the bottom of the tub and in the crevices around the bsthtub. There was also dirt and stains around the bottom of the toilet. Luckily, I travel with bleach tablets and gloves. Front desk personnel was kind. Stayed 2 nights. Housekeeping knocked on the door and asked me to put towels in her dirty towel cart. She never came back to do anything. After going out for the day and returning in the evening. No clean towels ever brought, no replacement of coffee pods, no tidying of room, and although the trash was bagged neatly to be removed, it stayed until I checked out 2 days later. I visit the area often but won't be staying here again. I did appreciate the easy access to stores, gas, and restaurants.”
