“From the time I spoke with Amy Tuck, the sales manager, about reserving a block of rooms for our Conference attendees, my experience with La Quinta Inn and Suites in Starkville has been superb in all respects! It took me several days and phone calls to research the hotels in the area, and the staff members answered all of my many questions with knowledge and unwavering cheerfulness. I'm so glad that I decided to make La Quinta our Conference hotel. Upon arrival, staff members at the desk seemed to know us by name and treated us like family. The rooms were so comfortable, immaculate, and quiet. The hot breakfast was varied and delicious. I can't praise this hotel enough for all that they did to make our stay perfect in every way!”

Craziest part was they said they wouldn't have towels til midday the next day because housekeeping was gone for the day. I was not a happy camper since my flight left at 10am.”

”As I drove up to the hotel I didn’t feel very safe. There were a few cars and several people sitting in their cars. Exactly across the street is a Circle K gas station. The lobby area was dark and the reception area was extremely compact. The night reception, a male, was not welcoming at all. He did not welcome me and I initiated the conversation. He did not mention the hotels amenities or time that breakfast was offered. As previous reviews mentioned there is an odor in the place. Like body odor or musty smell. It wasn’t a fresh scent. My room was nicely decorated but when I took a closer look the wear and tear was obvious. A screw was missing from the security lock. The bed had two serious dips and an odor. I had 6 small pillows on the bed and the linen was extremely wrinkled. The furniture has a lot of dings from age and use. The microwave on the outside was in need of a good cleaning. The coffee maker was fine but there were not sugar, creamer, stir sticks to make coffee. The vanity was nice and the Dove products were a plus. Next trip I will do more research instead of trusting a brand.”

”My husband and I booked a one night stay here to attend a party for my aunt. Upon arrival the front desk clerks were very friendly with us. This was the positive. The negative is the location is not clean, everything from the smell (it smelled like wet dog?!) to the elevator floors having trash on them to the lobby and our room. We ended up calling the front desk to get our bathroom cleaned. There was polish left on our tables in the room so it was wet, we cleaned it off with towels. There was a plastic bag over our smoke detector and a spider on the ceiling. The floors were dirty I made sure to wear my slides. The bed was soft which seemed extremely cheap, the pillows were extremely soft I just stacked them to sleep. For the price it’s just really not worth it, but what other options do you have in such a small town. I will not be staying here again.”

We checked the room over and deemed it safe so stayed. The bedding was ok for a hotel. The continental breakfast was out of a lot of items and the lady running it was over at the counter talking with the lady behind the desk the whole time I was eating. There just seemed to be a lack of pride or care which was disappointing since this is a Marriott chain hotel.”

”Loved our room (the Mary suite)! The room was super clean, AV worked great, the Aveda products were a nice touch, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. I took off 1 star overall because the property is so close to the train tracks and the train comes through several times during the night. Even with that, I'd stay there again for sure. I do love the location except for that one thing. I took 1 star off of service only because I didn't have to interact with any of the Inn's staff. I'm sure they are lovely though! Definitely recommend!”

”I came here from California and the pricing for the room was great. I thought the beds were very comfortable. The parking was good and amenities were good. The problem was I could feel the judgment from the people working there except for one lady when I checked out was very nice. The train didn't bother me because I'm used to it being loud in California. But the food was the most disgusting food i've ever had. I didn't have one good meal in general in this entire state. In my whole trip and I was sick the whole time because of it. I mean, the people that think that the food is good are probably just used to bad food and never had real good food before. The only thing that was okay was the coffee and the waffle maker, and that's it. Also one of the ladies told my daughter to stop playing with the food. But in reality my daughter is 8 years old and I let her cook at home with me. And all she was doing was opening the lid. Grabbing the tongs to get herself an egg and closing it like a grown up. Also absolutely no first aid kit anywhere? Every single hotel has a first aid kit nd i've been the over 50 hotels.”
