“Everything about this place is great! From clean bathrooms, amazing ambiance, music, flavor. We are from the north and we know a thing or two. The chicken and beef were not rubbery and were made fresh to order. If you are in the are come in for an affordable and delicious lunch or dinner. My kids can be picky and they loved it. The edamame was great, and the dumplings with their in house sauce was spot on. Ohh and the service, this gentle, friendly, lady was so sweet! Will be coming again when I come to the area 🙂 thank you! Ps. We had the hibachi and Teriyaki chicken with the dumplings and edamame? All highly recommended! Came two days in a row for lunch. Ohh those carrots, soo sweet and lightly buttered ❤️❤️❤️🙂”

“I came in for the lunch special and it was a good value for good food. For a sushi place in Memphis, I was pleasantly surprised how good it was--and I've had sushi/sashimi in Japan several times. Service was fast and friendly”

“During my recent visit to Toyama Japanese Steak House, I had a mixed dining experience. The highlight was definitely the sushi – we ordered the 'Pretty Woman', 'Rainbow', and 'Philadelphia' rolls. Each of these selections was quite good, offering a satisfying taste of what the restaurant's sushi menu has to offer. However, the overall Japanese cuisine experience was average – not particularly outstanding, but not disappointing either. For appetizers, we tried the calamari and fried soft-shell crabs. The calamari was a pleasant surprise, cooked well with a nice flavor. Unfortunately, the fried soft-shell crabs were a different story. They were unappetizing to the point where we couldn't eat them. Despite expressing our dissatisfaction, we were still charged the full price for this dish, which was a bit disheartening. In conclusion, Toyama Japanese Steak House offers decent sushi options but has room for improvement in other areas of their menu and customer service, particularly in how they handle customer feedback on their dishes.”

“This is my second time eating here and I have nothing bad to say about this place. We will be back many times over. The biggest thing I noticed immediately was how huge their specialty rolls were. They're easily 2 - 3 times larger than a standard sushi roll so keep that in mind when ordering because the first time the wife and I ate here we ordered 2 each and it was so much food we couldn't finish it all. Despite how large they are there was no shortage in the quality of the ingredients, the preparation, and the flavor of the rolls. We ordered 2 egg rolls, 1 Heart House Salad, 4J Roll, Tia Roll, and the Philadelphia Roll for around 50 dollars. It was all delicious, but the 4J Roll is by a long shot our favorite roll we've had there. I like the Tia Roll too because it has habanero inside for a little heat. The egg rolls were cooked perfectly, the salad was fresh, and the ginger dressing was good. Staff was attentive and kind. I get the vibe that it is family owned, but I don't know for sure. My fellow lab workers, don't sleep on this spot!”

“This was some of the best Thai food/fusion with sushi that we’ve had in a long time! We had to wait a bit for a table, but they kept us updated. The food was fast after ordering, we didn’t get checked on much after having food, but otherwise it was great! Everything we ordered was very fresh and tasty and SOOO reasonable in price compared to other places we had visited in Nashville! Def will return when we visit again!”

“We wanted to try a new restaurant, and Takashi Bistro did not disappoint us. The clear soup was the most flavorful that I have ever tasted. The salad was good. It had more dressing than I liked. You may want to let the waitress know that you do not like an extra wet (runny) salad unless, of course, you do. The chicken fried rice was wonderful. By the time I got to the Salmon entree, I was full. I tasted it, and it was great, but I was just too full to finish. The atmosphere was nice as well. There was a bar and seating where you could see the cooks as they prepared the meals.”

“A hidden gem I discovered passing the long line of cars waiting on the highway to get in. Went to try it myself the following week. Simply amazing! Thought it was a little pricey for not being hibachi tables, but definitely worth the trip.”
