“Cove Point Lodge has been a go-to for my Wife and I for years. I love visiting during any season, but in my opinion winter is especially cozy. The Lake Superior shoreline right outside of the lodge is gorgeous. I recommend walking out to the end of Cove Point for sunrise and/or sunset. Of course, Beaver Bay offers many wonderful outdoor attractions within short driving distance too. The restaurant within the lodge serves delicious food - I highly recommend dinner there. I love spending my evenings in the lobby in front of the large wood burning fireplace with a book in hand, especially during a snow storm. I’ve had some great conversations with other guests in front of the fireplace too. They also have games and books available, making the lobby a fun place to hang out. If you want some privacy, they offer rooms with gas fireplaces and every single room has window views of Lake Superior. You really can’t go wrong with Cove Point Lodge as a getaway destination.”

“Stayed there for a week, during which time I was/am attempting to downsize my storage locker,( which is in St. Paul). I'm living in Apple Valley, but don't drive so staying closer to my storage for an extended time, allowed me to work longer, get more cleaned up and downsized. The hotel seems well staffed with knowledgeable and friendly employees. Very clean, quiet and though on the smaller side, roomwise, it was perfectly adequate for me, my bicycle and my belongings as well as space for some food and munchies and pop. I didn't get room service; I've heard it's delicious! Ah well, maybe next time. I'll be back! Two thumbs up!”

“If you come here, you NEED to get the “cajun Alfredo.” I am honestly doing you a favor by telling you what to order. This is the best pasta I have ever had in my life. Give this chef a hug, they have really figured this whole noodle mixture out. Thank you for blessing my taste buds. I will drive up here literally for the pasta. Thank you.”

“My recent stay at the Comfort Inn and Suites was a mixed bag, leading me to give it a solid 3-star rating. The hotel's attached bar was a pleasant surprise, bustling with energy on a Wednesday night due to a bingo event. This vibrant atmosphere added a unique charm to the hotel, although it did make parking a bit of a hassle, as the lot was quite full.I encountered a minor inconvenience when my key card stopped working, necessitating a trip back to the front desk. The staff were helpful in resolving this issue, but it was a slight disruption to my evening.A notable oversight was the clocks in the hotel being set an hour ahead. It appeared they hadn't been adjusted for daylight savings time, which had occurred four days prior. This detail, although minor, did affect the overall impression of attention to maintenance. The room's cleanliness was a bit of a letdown, with some noticeable stains on the floor. However, on a positive note, the bed was quite comfortable, providing a good night's sleep. The interior of the hotel, particularly the room, was more inviting than its exterior suggested. In summary, the Comfort Inn and Suites offers a decent stay with a few areas needing improvement. The lively bar scene and comfortable bedding are its strong points, but attention to details like parking convenience, maintenance of facilities, and room cleanliness could elevate the overall experience.”

Grand Portage Lodge And Casino

“I stayed here for location for business purposes, first room I was in had bed bugs and was not clean almost as if they didn't clean it for the next person. I complained was given another room which was better however all the outlets were worn out couldn't even charge my devices completely until I moved the furniture in the room to find outlets much better than the ones your expected to use. Bathrooms don't even have ventilation black mold showing above shower area. Absolutely disgusting place to stay would not recommend at all. Drive 30 something more miles and stay in Grand Marais it's worth the extra gas.”

“Our stay at Klarhet was wonderful, and it was so hard to leave! The dome was cozy and warm, and waking up to the sunrise over Lake Superior was magical. They have all you need for a very comfortable stay. We loved snuggling the baby goats and visiting the chickens, and a winter hike through their woods was lovely. Nicole and Kirk are kind and generous hosts. They've created a beautiful, peaceful place to relax and explore the outdoors.”

“It was a long weekend visit for me, however my husband and 12 yo are up for 10 days. Upon my arrival Fri evening, the golf cart parade went thru and was followed by an all ladies "Hey ride" and it was so fun. The cabins look amazing!! And there are cabins for different size groups! The main lodge had a restaurant/bar; indoor pool and hot tub, along with the convenience store. I'm guessing maybe 8-10 rooms on the 2&3rd levels with an elevator. Staff were all very friendly and always busy. It wouldn't surprise me to learn they were short staffed, but every time I saw staff, they waved or had a smile on their face. My kid took part in the kids charter. I think they had boats/pontoons you could rent as well. I'd recommend this place to others without any hesitation. I also don't know the rates, as my husband took care of that.”

Residence Inn By Marriott Minneapolis Downtown/city Center
4.2
( 10 reviews )

45 S 8th St, Minneapolis, MN 55402, United States

“Rooms were clean and had a modern look. The bed was very soft and comfortable, so we're the pillows. The layout of our room was different. We had a two queen or full size beds with a pullout couch and kitchen area. It was definitely a cramped area with all that and I would say you could only have 3 or 4 people comfortably even though the room could sleep 6. The staff seemed overwhelmed. We called for directions to the parking garage and it was very confusing. I would definitely get clarification on that before you arrive if you aren't familiar with the area. We ended up in thr wrong one and paid double the cost. The breakfast here is terrible. There was a mix of cold and cold items but they weren't being refilled and what was there was a low quality.”

Minneapolis Northwest Koa Journey

“We stopped at here for the night after traveling about 15 hours from Ohio. It was our first RV and campground experience and everything was really nice! The people were very friendly and showed us our spot for the night. The campground was quiet and clean, with full hookups. It was a little ways off the highway but not too far. The perfect place to stop for the night. I would highly recommend!”

“Very poorly taken care of rooms. Hot tubs haven't worked in some units for a couple years. Main pool is closed. Cable box in our unit is broken. They have no interest in fixing things, but they'll charge you full price and not blink an eye. I would advise staying away until management learns they have to actually fix things that break.”
