“I can't fault the site but I would have liked much more. We didn't have an awning and the rain was heavy. I imagined indoor areas to eat and hang out and that wasn't available. It's quite minimal with just one food van for two hours in the eve and a small shop. Access to the Lake is great but there's no views of it from the site and not much for teens and families otherwise.”

“Absolutely beautiful location for a camping weekend. Lodges are clean, functional and comfortable enough. 3 of us shared the lodge and it was cramped, storage space is very limited inside. However there is ample space out front with a table and benches for food prep and relaxing. Showers with hot water & toilet facilities are clean 🧽 Staff are very accommodating and in reception there a small shop with a coffee machine, wood & all camping essentials.”

“Brilliant site, just 5 minute walk away from Glenridding village centre and right on the starting path of Helvelyn. Lovely site with amazing views. You have to pay 20p to use the showers but they are hot and clean. We used the electric hook up with our tent and there were no issues it worked perfectly. Reception staff were lovely and helped us out when we realised we’d forgot our matches. We will definitely be back 😊”

Fantastic facilities, great showers and family room bathrooms. Boot/clothes drying room, could do with the fan running permanently to properly dry your clothes or boots. Dog friendly site, dog wash also provided. Easy 1.5 mile walk to Mevagissey which is stunning Cornish village. Lost Gardens of Heligan right next door. Very quiet site. Recommended!!”

“Took our 2 year old camping for 4 nights over August bank holiday and we had a brilliant time. Honestly one of the loveliest campsites we've stayed as a family, and we've been all over France as well as England. Bathrooms and washing up areas were so clean spacious and modern, great playground overlooking the sea. Lots of animals to visit. Peaceful little beach just a short walk away. Food on site for those lazy mornings or suppers. Can't wait to come back next year!”

Only minor niggles stop me giving 5 stars across the board and that is the lack of a soap dish for the bath and shower (first world problem of having to remember to move the soap from the basin if showering or bath); pillows are not the best. However plentiful hot water with good water pressure, bed is comfortable. Love the fresh milk in the fridge and the water. Lovely touch with the sherry and biscuits. Lovely breakfast menu. Would have been nice to have been able to get an evening meal here as the dining room is lovely. Lovely location”
