“Wow! For a 3 star hotel I was very pleasantly surprised especially with their breakfast food! The hotel is located perfectly in Liverpool central walkable to the station and everywhere you need to go! The room was great, but it did get a little cold at night as their heated ventilators weren’t able to keep up with the cold, but the hotel reception were able to resolve this by giving us a heated radiator. The main thing I liked about this hotel is the quality of the food! On my god….it was superb quality! Sausages tasted like sausages, eggs tasted like eggs and they were very accommodating by giving us veggie sausages as we had a vegetarian in the group! The car park is literally next door to the hotel and it only costs £6 per day to park (you just need to give reception your car registration)! Overall very happy with this stay and I will definitely be staying here again when I come back to Liverpool! 100% recommend this hotel! 😊”

“Downstairs lovely as it has been redecorated recently. Upstairs bedrooms need sorting out. The hotel is in need of a general maintenance person as there were lots of issues with the bedrooms which could of easily been fixed. Our bedroom window didn't shut so making it quite cold & it was December! No bath in the bathroom as requested & the hotel had been booked well in advance. Its a long way up a very winding steep road with no footpath in places from the centre of Tourquay so not suitable to walk into & back from the centre of Tourquay especially in the winter months or for older people. The taxi service in Torquay is not great either! There is no swimming pool in this hotel. Only hydrotherapy pools, a sauna & steam room & it no longer has a gym. It does have a lovely back garden & in the summer/ better months i believe there is a footpath leading down to a local secluded beach. As it is high up & overlooking the sea it does have lovely views & there is a nearby path leading up towards an even better viewpoint.”

“So glad we choose the Premier Inn Helston for our short 4-day break. Situated on the outskirts of Helston in a quiet location, it was easy to get to and had ample parking with CCTV 👍 We found the staff to be friendly and genuinely helpful. Our room was, as Premier Inn rooms tend to be, clean and tidy with the usual tea/coffee making facilities. During our stay (2 weeks before Christmas) we didn’t hear a sound from the other guests, which we put down to the rather creative signage ‘Please tiptoe’ on the internal doors! However there were two things that stopped us giving 5 🌟 1) insufficient storage for a 4 night stay. 2) lack of fresh air! - sadly our window, and were others in the block, were NOT for opening. So you’re reliant on the AC etc. that worked fine, but not the same as fresh air! For two of our 4 nights we ate at the May Tree which is just a short 1 minute walk from the Inn. We liked the layout of small areas with 4-5 tables in each, which made them feel cozy. There was a good selection of food and drinks, all sensibly priced. And like the Inn the staff were friendly and genuinely helpful 👍 Would we go back. . . Oh yes!”

All the staff were very proactive to help and demonstrated amazing flexibility in assisting us. The staff at the Lion and Key were very proactive in accommodating myself and my wife in every way they could. The room was very boutique, stylish and comfortable. “Had a great stay here on our way back from Cornwall. Lovely double room, massive comfy bed. Very clean. Nice to have a bar on site which was needed after the long drive. There is a pub next door too serving food, and also a Maccy D's if you just want a snack. Just off the Motorway too. We had our dog with us and she was made to feel more than welcome. “We came in just before 9 o’clock in the evening and were expecting an easy check in. This was not the case. As always with IHG online bookings they had messed up our reservation. The receptionist however, did manage to fix it jumping through several hurdles to do so. The rooms were clean but not spotless like what I have come to expect with other IHG hotels including other holiday inn expresses. There was the occasional hair in the bathroom and small stains on the bathroom tiles but I only noticed them because I was looking for them. Bedding was comfortable and cozy. Rooms were spacious enough Breakfast was the bare minimum. Your usual eggs bacon sausages and toast were all available but barely anything else. They marketed instant cup-porridge as a speciality item which was hilarious .There was a small and very slow pancake machine which made small yet delicious pancakes. Overall a good one-night stay with minimal amenities.”

He then wanted to keep hold of my driving license - it was now 1.30am and I wasnt very happy! I refused and then said he can photo copy it - he said he didnt know how to do this and then took a picture of my driving license! - room isn't great! Dated, carpets filthy!”
