“Had a lovely stay here. The room was very comfortable and cozy. Surprised by the amenities provided during our stay. The surrounding estate offers scenic views and good walks. The spa area is a must visit to relax. Staff were very amicable and warm. The only critique I would make is that the food at the stove could be improved a little. It was a little lacklustre. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back!”

“Stayed at the Kensington during a long weekend in London, and it was a lovely stay. The common areas are cute and full of character. The daily breakfast was a great start to the day — very friendly and accommodating service. The fruit was fresh, the French toast had good texture, and the yogurt and granola was also good. The front desk/concierge are also friendly and provide great service. The rooms are what I would call “tiny but mighty.” I stayed in a room with a queen bed, and it was small but used the space very efficiently. The room was overall comfortable, but the bed sloped a bit in the middle. Other than that, highly recommend the hotel.”

“Absolutely beautiful hotel, I had a one night stay with my mum and it was extremely comfortable and dressed beautifully for Christmas. Our room wasn't quite ready when we arrived so we were given complimentary tea and biscuits in the game bird restaurant whilst we waited, all of the staff were very polite, attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for any of them. The hotel is situated on a quiet and secluded street which is only a 4 minute walk through the park to the Ritz and lots of shops. If you're visiting London this hotel is a must and I would highly recommend it to anyone”

“For the price, the rooms were small, well decorated but aging, and the room service was lacking. One of the times we requested service, it never came. Concierge service provider as only useful for airport pickup and drop off. They were not useful for dinner reservations or pickup/drop off services to local attractions. I enjoyed the breakfast, but admit that I relished the convenience of not leaving the hotel to find food. If you are up and about, I’d recommend spending your money elsewhere for breakfast. Wonderful service in the restaurant, but absolutely basic food. I should mention that this hotel may have the best location in the city for sightseeing. That is the major redeeming quality, and why I don’t feel like I overpaid by much.”

“We were fortunate to get a room and dining experience at the Angel at Hetton for New Years Eve. The accommodation was first rate, with no expense spared on the furnishings, their fit and facilities. We stayed in the main restaurant building, which was ideal, giving us easy access for our evening meal which was the tasting menu. As we had been to the restaurant before, we were aware of the service standards and quality of the food and dining experience, all of which are not deteriorating over time, in fact they are improving. The staff were familiar faces from our previous visits, giving confidence to the guests dining that the staff were spot on with their work and communication. No disappointments here, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The food is exquisite, with taste sensations coming to you on each course, amazing food and you can understand why Michael and team have a Michelin star, although why it's not 2 stars is a conundrum. At the end of the evening service, having retired to the bar for the customary NYE celebrations, to see Michael and his team all gather round at midnight was a testimony to their team spirit, it was lovely to see. Having had a great nights sleep, the breakfast tasting menu didn't disappoint either, with the service and food top notch. Overall, not disappointed and pleased that even though we didn't think it possible, Michael and team are continuing to improve and innovate, well done!”

“Hillside Caravan Park is an absolute gem. The pitches are well serviced and have all the necessities . The toilet block is spotless with underfloor heating. We stayed from Friday till Monday and having our Caravan in storage there, just meant a phone call a few days before we arrived and it was out on the pitch. The amenities inside Bear Lodger were all to a very high standard and the children enjoyed themselves. The hotel was absolutely stunning and the elegant Christmas decorations were perfect and it felt really special to be married in such a beautiful and historic building set in beautiful grounds. Charlotte and Lauren were amazing in providing lots of good advice and support in the planning and run up to our big day to ensure it ran smoothly. They simply went above and beyond what was expected and exceeded our high expectations and we'll always treasure the special memories we have of the day. The food and service was excellent and we were married in the Great Hall which is simply spectacular, especially by candlelight! We were also able to use other rooms and the Contessa Bar, which are equally beautiful, for other parts of the day. Our guests were wowed by the Hotel and we had the most wonderful day and would highly recommend Hillbark to anyone looking for a special place to be married or for any other important occasion.”
