“Food is pretty tasty, good quality fish and portions were larger than expected. Servers are also really nice. Even if you order take out, the food looks so nicely packed. Recommended.”

Mountain Hut Sushi
4.6
( 16 reviews ) $$
Open until 10:00 PM

741 7 Ave, Fernie, BC V0B 1M0, Canada

“Pretty good food but also pretty expensive for what it was. Watch yourself; our waitress added unrequested refills and sides to our order and seemed to be 'powdering her nose' once to often.”

“Food was bomb! Our first time here and we will definitely come back:) If you’re going with a group of friends definitely do the deluxe boat! Must-try items: Akari House Salad, Tempura, Agadashi Tofu, Crispy Roll.”

Sushi Straw
4.6
( 8 reviews ) $$

2082 Comox Ave, Comox, BC V9M 1P8, Canada

“Amazing sushi place which seems small from outside but quite expansive inside. The selections are decent size and priced higher since the covid inflation. Food quality is delicious and the service is great. Strongly recommend a visit even if not in the area. Worth the drive.🍱🍣”

The Rice Bowl That Came
4.3
( 8 reviews ) $$

423 Seymour St, Vancouver, BC V6B 3H5, Canada

“This is 11/10!!! 🔥 Had a hard time ordering since they have lots of good things on their menu. I ordered their Spicy Chirashi Sushi Don 😍✨🤤💯 - definitely a favorite of mine!! Something I won't ever forget 🫣, friend ordered a Unagi Ka-Ke and we shared the Aburi set— that comes with Unagi that just melts on your mouth! Food and seafood are very fresh. Again. 11/10 ⭐”

Ebizo Japanese Restaurant Ltd
4.5
( 16 reviews ) $$

604 Broughton St, Victoria, BC V8W 1X7, Canada

“Favourite sushi bar in Victoria. Great location to walk to if you’re downtown, near great shops off government street. Service is always excellent. The atmosphere is quiet and a great layout, not a huge place so at peak times you may have to wait for a table. I’ve purchased takeout as well and quality is still superior to other sushi takeout. A favourite place of mine for lunch. The food is top notch, always peak freshness, excellent presentation as well.”

Hanaya Japanese Restaurant
4.5
( 8 reviews ) $$
Open until 09:30 PM

2828 152 St #106, Surrey, BC V4P 1G6, Canada

“Tucked in a little corner in South Surrey is a wonderful Japanese restaurant called Hanaya. The restaurant is easily missed as you travel down King George but it is worth your time to go and have a meal inside. The staff are attentive and quick to respond to service calls. The atmosphere is also unique with the cherry blossoms and customer pictures adorning the Japanese interior design. The food was also very impressive and exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend you visit this gem.”

Sushi Book
4.3
( 8 reviews ) $$

2201 Holdom Ave #102, Burnaby, BC V5B 0A2, Canada

“Loved everything. Usually not a huge fan of Japanese cuisine but the food and service at this restaurant won me over. The ika karaage( fried squid) was out of this world. I fell in love with it. The karaage chicken and spicy agadashe tofu was also completely mind blowing. Really delicious food and good service. 10/10 would recommend!”

Sushi Bar Kilala
4.7
( 8 reviews ) $$

4749 Hastings St, Burnaby, BC V5C 2K8, Canada

“We came here for dinner on a snow day right at 4:30pm when they opened. Nobody else came in to dine with the roads being so terrible. There were some take out orders which happened while we were there so I was happy that the couple had some business. It was our first time eating here and everything we had was very fresh and tasty. The spicy salmon roll is the best I have ever had here at this restaurant! The sashimi salad was surprisingly really nice. The salad dressing and fresh greens really complimented the fresh seafood. I will definitely be eating here again.”

Kimu Japanese Cuisine
4.2
( 8 reviews ) $$

4441 Boundary Rd, Vancouver, BC V5R 2N3, Canada

“I've been taking the family here 5-6 times a year for the past 10 years. Usually after Church on Sundays. Food quality and the amount they give has always been the reason for us to return. The bento box is what I usually get, with the price being precovid being $13, but now at $18 it is still great value. Never had problem finding parking either.”

Sehmi Japanese Restaurant
4.6
( 8 reviews ) $$
Open until 02:15 PM

2404 Timberlane Rd, Port Alberni, BC V9Y 8P2, Canada

“I'm from Vancouver and I have been getting bored with sushi in the last few years but my lunch from Sehmi today changed that! I have not had such tasty and interesting sushi in a long time! I was so satisfied at the end of my meal. Kudos, chefs! Beautiful job! I love the variety of interesting roll options on the menu. Thank you for giving us something different.”

Kiyo Sushi (order From Our Website & Save More!)
4.3
( 8 reviews ) $$

11590 Cambie Rd. #110, Richmond, BC V6X 3Z5, Canada

“Came for lunch on a workday, very disappointed... Sashimi was not so fresh in the sashimi bento, especially the tuna, tasted like it was defrozen more than one time, very watery, ten spot prawns are extremely small, never seen such small ones...the gomaae also tasted kinda watery, lacking some sesame flavor (possibly chef decided to reduce the amount sesame sauce to save cost??) The dipping for tempura is some packaged mayo mix, would be better if served with just regular tempura sauce. Chicken skewers lacking flavors. Rolls in the Bento are okay. Same issue with the sushi Bento, fish not so fresh... For the grilled black cod, found 4 fish bones in the piece....never had fishbone in gindara at any other Japanese restaurant before (Im aware there are fishbones in black cod, but normally it's prepped well and the bones would be picked out, at least at all other Japanese restaurant I have tried so far) tasted okay. Service was okay. Servers brought out our teas a bit later but it's not a big problem...I'm surprised that they brought out the miso soups without any spoons... Price is ridiculously high...for the quality (problems are listed above) Atmosphere was okay, small cozy restaurant. Wound not recommend coming here for lunch. There are way too many better options in Richmond.”

Browns Crafthouse Ubc
4.4
( 8 reviews ) $$

6111 University Blvd Unit 101, Vancouver, BC V6T 0C7, Canada

“This was a great addition to the UBC campus, providing students with higher-end options to eat at and celebrate events. The food is good, although I don't think they have ample options. Their drinks are great, offering everything from cocktails to tap beer. The staff is friendly, but can be inexperienced... at the end of the day they're mostly students. I usually go for an Ahi Tuna bowl, and always make sure to order a side of yam fries, which are absolutely delicious.”

Cozen Japanese Cuisine
4.9
( 10 reviews )

1441 Commercial Dr, Vancouver, BC V5L 3X8, Canada

“An excellent spot on commercial drive for a more refine meal experience of Japanese cuisine. The sushi rolls here are delicious and fresh. The combination of flavours is appealing and diverse. I tried the double avocado roll and the blue ocean roll. Both were great. The avocado roll was like an explosion of avocado which I enjoyed and the blue ocean roll was very tasty and had a good combination of salmon and tuna. Both I would highly recommend. Overall had a great experience and will come back again. Definitely recommending any of their special rolls, especially the avocado roll. The fried quinoa as a topper really was nice and added a great crunch to the roll. Friendly staff and good service!”

Kaiso Japanese And Thai Cuisine
4.5
( 8 reviews )
Open until 08:00 PM

3604 Carrington Rd #307, West Kelowna, BC V4T 3K7, Canada

“Not overly impressed with the sushi rolls. The rice was very mushy and as you can see in the pics there’s barely any shrimp. It’s mostly tempura. The chopped scallop rolls were soggy. The sashimi was good but expensive for 8 pieces $17. We also order Pad Thai and asked for 10/10 spicy and it’s not spicy at all and it was very bland :-( Quiet disappointed in our meals.”

Cactus Club Cafe
4.1
( 8 reviews ) $$
Open until 11:00 PM

855 Main St, West Vancouver, BC V7T 2Z3, Canada

“As Always, the food is consistently amazing! Service is continuously great from check in to check out! (would be nice to have waters offered to be refilled, without asking each time) but minor detail! We had quiet the spread....as you will see in my photos... Beef carpaccio always amazing! Lettuce wrap has kick (my fav), and the perfect seasoning and sauces on everything! Burgers were all good, yam fries, truffle fries, Avocado kale salad.... All great!”

Deep Cove Chalet
4.4
( 16 reviews )

11190 Chalet Rd, North Saanich, BC V8L 5M1, Canada

“I read some comments mentioning rude staff, and I agree they are mean. Since Google Maps showed that they were open, I sent an email to check if I could make a reservation. My email started with "Happy New Year! I hope this email finds you well," asked about the availability, and ended with "Best regards" as what normal people would do. Their reply was "Always closed in January". Nothing else. Not even "Hello". Are we communicating via WhatsApp or FB Messenger? What the actual ****?”

Kasai Tepanyaki S Teak & Sushi Hose
4.5
( 8 reviews )

1717 Harvey Ave #8, Kelowna, BC V1Y 6G3, Canada

“Only complaint was that food took longer to come out, but overall this was a largely positive experience. The restaurant looks new and the decor was lovely, when we first arrived we were promptly greeted and seated. Staff was friendly and attended to requests immediately instead of delaying or getting distracted. As mentioned food took a while to come out, but ultimately a satisfactory dinner for us.”
