Our servers were warm and accommodating (critical given the bone chilling cold that day before dinner) and the food was uniformly excellent. The deconstructed fish soup was a particularly fascinating touch and of course a restaurant with escargot in the name did not disappoint with the titular dish. Duck egg omelette was fascinating and a classic beef bourguignon simply hits the spot on a chilly day. Would 100% recommend to francophiles looking for a proper feed in Edinburgh.”

“Firstly, the staff here were exceptional! Definitely the best customer service we’ve had throughout our entire stay in Glasgow. Everyone was so kind and willing to go the extra mile. The restaurant was busy as expected but the food was fast. We ordered two medium rare steaks with the blooming onion and the beef dripping chips. My steak was slightly more rare than medium rare, I didn’t mind as I’m always up for trying new things. The chips were slightly disappointing as some were too thick and hard and more wedges than chips. I personally didn’t like the Blooming Onion as I expected it to have the texture of an onion ring but instead the onion was quite hard and had a charred taste, however, I think this is completely a personal preference. We were also disappointed they didn’t provide the popcorn and ice cream like most Flat Iron restaurants do but that was down to maybe not doing our research! Overall, we’d definitely come back as for the price the steak was brilliant.”

The pasta over cooked chicken slithers I could have put all the chicken on a soup spoon and the sauce very runny thin etc. Would I pay over £15 for that dish no way but insult to injury got charged £3 for a glass of tap water to swallow my pills.. Would I return no way first and last experience so it was a shame.”

“Such an oasis in Portree! After walking to 7 restaurants who were either closed, short staffed or had menus that were 🫤 we found this. Firstly it was warm, romantic and has great ambience and music. We had the muscles, scallops to start which were delectable. The mains were the mushroom and artichoke risotto and the pheasant dish just gorgeous. We shared a side of fries and fondant and ice cream. All matched our day of exploration. Just a beautiful nourishing offering. Will be back!”
