“We had a booking for 18:30 on a Friday evening for a friends 50th birthday. It was a really hot night, highly unusual for the time of year. We each had a starter and a main and a couple of bottles of wine to share. The portions are a healthy size and the food is delicious. Staff are very friendly and offer a great service. Total bill including a tip was £250. Between 6 of us not bad for a lovely night out with excellent food.”

“We popped in without a booking on a Sunday night after a long drive and were met with such fantastic service. Our waiter Blair was soo friendly, made some great recommendations and made us laugh a lot! The frito misto was a great starter, huge fresh bits of fresh and a delicious garlic and parsley sauce. We also ordered the asparagus with pancetta which was so nicely done with another great sauce. The fresh pasta dishes were phenomenal! Between our table we ordered the slow cooked beef and tuscan sausage ragu which had so much tender meat and a delicious rich sauce, the rigatoni sinatra (crumbled italian sausages with loads of roasted peppers and chilli in a tomato sauce) and the fettuccine pollo piccante which was my favourite. This was spicy chicken in a creamy parmesan sauce with a right kick of chilli! For a complete accidental find we had such a great meal and would definitely come back if we were travelling down to Glasgow from the Highlands again!”

“My friend and I arrived at The Rocketeer around 4:45PM. We were seated right away and the kind server took our order very quickly. The windows surrounding the whole restaurant allowed us to catch the end of the sunset on the water, which was such a nice experience! We received our food around 15-20 minutes after ordering, and it was phenomenal - easily some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! The batter was crispy, and the fish was perfectly flaky. The double-dipped chips were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!”

“We were in Aviemore for a few days and fancied having something different to eat, after browsing online Cheese & Tomatin seemed to be the number one place in the area. We tried phoning to book but unfortunately the line doesn't work so it is just first come, first served. They are located above the cairngorm mountain sport shop with free parking and a side entrance to access the restaurant. As we entered we were greeted by a friendly waitress who showed us to our table. It felt a really homely restaurant with sofas/chairs, skiing and snowboarding items dotted around to add the feel of Aviemore. It is all table service and with a great selection of pizzas it was hard to pick! They are all handcrafted and taste fantastic, proper pizza base with local ingredients. We were going to takeaway but with the same prices for sitting in we decided to enjoy it overlooking the town centre. Cheese and Tomatin was brilliant, if your in the need for a proper homemade pizza look no further. Will definitely be back!”

“I came to this resturant whilst travelling with my girlfriend. Long story short, I was please with my dining experience but can not say it was immaculately perfect. Prior to arrival, we had walked through Helensburgh and were struck by the front of the building, the signage was noticeable but it was not too gaudy as to put off the appearance of cheapness. We decided that we wanted the seafood platter as we had a hankering for shellfish. Advice on the menu is to call before you plan to visit to check availability. Staff informed us that we were in luck! Upon arrival, staff were happy to see us, and discussed the meal with us whilst leading us to our table. The presentation was as would be expected although we did have to request alternative cutlery as we were given steak knives to begin. We ordered one (moderately priced) glass of wine each and water for the table. The kitchen is situated in the centre of of the resturant, so it was great pre-meal entertainment to watch the food being prepared. before receiving a five minute warning that starters were on the way out. The meal itself was brilliant, and contained a whole lobster, oysters, scallops, languoustines, two portions of fries and garlic foccacia. All excellently and freshly caught/prepared, and at this point we were also provided with additional cutlery to support our shellfish dining experience. A personal highlight was seeing the finished pile of shells after we had finish. It's worth noting that it took two of us several hours to work through the meal, and of course we left no meat spare. One complaint would be that the salad provided looked and tasted like kebab shop doner salad. This did put a downer on the experience and has cost the meal five stars. We did not opt for desert as the meal left us stuffed. This was the last place we expected to find a quality establishment such as this, and some of the other clientele clearly had a drinks focus during their visit. As we had already opted for a pricey meal, we did not want to empty the bank on drinks but with the options at the bar, you certainly could if you wanted to. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Loch Lomond area and can drive for 20 minutes or so. Service - 9/10 Food - 9/10 Price - 7/10 Atmosphere - 8/10 Overall score: 33/40”

“Such a wonderful, cozy restaurant to pop into on a cold rainy day. So many veg options too! Got the sweet potato cinnamon soup and the mac & cheese and got the perfect food coma after. Did an americano after to fix that. The holiday/Christmas decorations were absolutely stunning the commute to the bathroom (a couple floors up) and in general I was pleasantly surprised at how much seating was available! We were able to come in and be seated quite quickly on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation. Great place to come while you’re popping in and out of shops in Victoria street Will absolutely return during my next visit to Edinburgh!”
