“Went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend and boy did they know what they’re talking about!! This restaurant is amazing!! Inside the aesthetics are great the staff are friendly and welcoming and the music was on point. A fantastic pizza menu from a genuine Italian family, even the plates and saucers are decorated by hand in Italy. The food is amazing, the tiramisu I had was the best ever and I’ve had a lot of them given it’s my favourite dessert. There is ample seating down stairs but if that’s full then there is another bar and loads of seating upstairs also. The kitchen is open plan to the restaurant so you can see them doing everything, if you sit upstairs you practically have to walk through the kitchen to get there. We loved everything about this restaurant from the first step inside to the bill which was very reasonable indeed. The wife and I both had a 3 course meal with drinks and it came to just over £50! They also do take away pizza so if you want to eat and run just rock up and order to take away. There are no steps into the restaurant so to sit on the ground floor I think you’d be fine, I didn’t see a lift for the upstairs though….doesn’t mean there wasn’t one though. Based on our experience we would certainly recommend, I think you would be mad not to visit! You have to like pizza though!”

They get very busy which in itself is testament to how good the food is, we didn't boom and ended up sitting outside in the beer garden. The food arrived quite quickly and was hot, the portion size was quite big and the food was fresh. I would definitely recommend trying this place.”

“Accidentally found this place and loved it!!! Disappointed with a different shop next door, I came here after seeing crowds outside and I realised why it’s so popular after getting a couple of their mixed meat shawarma’s in their freshly baked bread. Meats were cooked perfectly, tasted lovely and their fresh salad with house sauces are nice, all in an amazing warm fresh baked bread. Best shawarma I’ve had anywhere. The bread is the game changer better than anywhere else. The service is really fast and good too, with all the guys serving with a smile and willing to help with your order. I was in and out within a few minutes and the shawarma was eaten even quicker!! 🤣”

“Went to the Elliott purposefully for Sunday lunch, very disappointed. Great atmosphere, lovely local, good service, but rubbish roast. Roast potatoes needed a hammer & chisel to get into, brussel sprouts were rubbery & had to be sawed with a knife, red cabbage was anemic, tasteless carrots, dry turkey, powdery stuffing & watery gravy. The 'chef' must have been having an off day, as we've eaten here numerous times over the last 40 yrs and the food was never this bad. Won't be having a Sunday roast there again anytime soon.”

“The food here is great, no question it's a tasty burrito. However, the portion sizes have dramatically reduced, yet they charge top dollar prices. It's such a shame as I used to enjoy my treat lunch here. I have only gone back this month as they had an offer on for double credit in using the app. They seem to offer more salad, less protein. I think they need some consistency in portion control.”

“We love going here. Been visiting for a good 10 years. We go to Devon every year, and this place just does the best sandwiches. Although it seems every year there are less cherubs hung on the walls (probably cleaning them takes forever), there’s always something to look at. The place is always clean and although busy, we always manage to get a table. We do usually book in advance. Parking nearby can be hit and miss. It’s a very popular area, and the car park is small and the roads are tight. The outside seating has had some work done this year, it’s a great addition. After your tea, there are lovely views and great walks. The walk to the Cary Arms from the Cliff railway is fantastic. You can also get there from a little arch way behind the toilets. We once (Covid era) got a takeaway, we walked down to near the Cary and enjoyed the views and sandwiches. We were the envy of many passer-by’s.”

Either the chef has gone or they've got greedy -Booked for today to treat my mother to lunch -whoah-the menu has changed to a standard pub type menu -but with ott prices ! I'm sorry but a mince steak and onion pie with chips and mushy peas isnt £17.95 anywhere except here ! Grilled chicken breast with chips tomatoes mushrooms and onion rings -£16.95 -another £3.5₩ for a sauce -really ?? Staff still ok but half empty on a Sunday lunch - no surprise there ! 12 months ago ..... Superb in all areas -from the ambience to the staff -and then food that is on another level again ! No rush - no fuss -piping hot delicious food and very busy too ! Realy can't express how good it is here -go try it yourself ! Highly recommended !! Now I wouldn't recommend-expensive but nothing special anymore !!!”
