“Food is served here but we didn't order. I've heard it's really good from a very reliable source so i gave it 5 stars. The burger is famous from what I'm told. It was recommended to return mid-day for a burger and beverage when it's not so crowded. We were there around 830 pm. It was a huge crowd of 20 somethings and it was a really nice crowd. People were enjoying themselves but were polite. The bar is in the middle with tables around and seating around the bar itself. Grill and bathrooms in the rear. There is a small patio in the front. My reliable source tells me that an older crowd comes earlier. We enjoyed the younger people, though. Note we are old enough to be their parents (we don't look it though ha ha). Service was soooo good despite the crowd- very impressive. Bar is located in a very old area and is surrounded by a multitude of places to go. You may want to Uber down and walk around while you're there.”

“Google asked me to rate the food, but it's not a food kinda place (besides the free popcorn, nice touch!) but it's definitely worth a visit. I've seen a drag show and a paranormal show there. It's a small intimate space. I usually come alone so it can be awkward to find a place to sit, especially if the venue is more full so I try to get there a little early. Everyone seems to be quite welcoming though and the shows were very good. It's lovely to have a space like this in Hamtramck.”

“If I could give 0 stars I would. Asked for simple drink and the bartender was very rude to me. She proceeded to make the drink wrong and got mad when it was politely brought back up to be remade. She asked the ingredients so I looked them up to show her but she refused to look at them and proceeded to make the wrong drink again stating that it was my fault it was wrong. “Like the place, but one of the bartenders Julie who was also my daughter’s Spanish teacher at NMU has it in for her. Before Christmas my daughter went in to eat with some friends. She was the designated driver for the night. Julie made her go out in the car and wait for them because she wasn’t 21. My daughter turned 21 on December 28. Her and her friends went in again last night. I guess it’s cheap pitcher Thursday. The server checked everyone’s ID and was taking good care of them. Julie seen my daughter and started talking with her server and pointing and staring her way. My daughter’s friend overheard Julie say some negative things about my daughter. The server came back to the table and checked my daughter’s ID again. Her and her friends said the server seemed to have a attitude with them the rest of the evening.”

“Atmosphere is usually really good. There is generally good conversation to be had with everyone including two of the bartenders. Judd and Jamie are rock stars and they make your experience welcoming and great. When they are behind the bar there is fun to be had by all. Unfortunately when DEB is there, her pour attitude and crummy service makes it less pleasant place to be. Also the fact that she is completely incapable of keeping your tab straight, it a must that you pay cash for each round. Today she saw me standing at the bar when I arrived and didn't bother to come down to serve me. About 5 minutes later she served 2 other people that walked in the door well after I did. After I made a comment she finally decided to get me a drink. She then decided to get upset when I wanted to pay cash for my drink then refusing to accept a tip. When I ordered 3 shots after that and paid for them, I tried to tip her again along with the first tip and another on and she walked away. This is a great place to hang out at but a piece of advice, if you walk in and Deb is working behind the bar, turn around and go up the street. She is the reason why I can't give Excalibur a higher rating.”
