“Having recently stayed in Appin for just over a week, I visited the Creagan Inn 4 times and was never disappointed. The staff was efficient, friendly, and engaging. I had their fish and chips, as well as the Cullen Skink, both of which were excellent. There is a large outdoor area where you can sit and enjoy your meal and a gorgeous view of Loch Linnhe, yet plenty of indoor seating should you want to escape the elements outside. I will most definitely return.”

“Visited this lovely restaurant for a Saturday lunch in November. Beautiful interiors (and equally quirky exteriors!) with a fascinating history. The staff were all so friendly and the place was busy even in November, so booking is recommended, you really get the feeling it’s a community favourite round here. We had the Lobster Thermidor, which was brilliant. It came with instructions on how to crack open the lobster and we had a few laughs with the manager while doing it. Very generous portion sizes. We had the Apple Pie for dessert which was also excellent. The staff gave us some tips on where to continue our adventure, there’s a seaside walk to the nearby Blackness Castle which rounded off a wonderful afternoon. 10/10 - will return again for sure. “Went two days in a row because the menu is quite extensive and I was curious! First day found a table on the lovely terrace and had mussels with a traditional white wine sauce which was extremely flavorful along with an overly sweet sweet potato soup. Big portions too--great value. The flowing day was Sunday at 430pm and I did not have a table booking and was not seated (it was raining so no seating outside), fine but fair warning to book on weekends! More frustrating was I ordered fish and chips to go--had to pay for tartar sauce and ketchup on side which are complimentary if you dine in. Along with a lemon wedge No lemon or peas included either. Just fish and chips. Further I asked if they had vinegar to go which they said they did but instead sprinkled it all over everything before handing to me which made everything soggy. Overall a poor value with takeaway would not do again. Dine in only and plan ahead! If you make it at least staff are all incredibly friendly.”

“Me and my son were staying at the Travelodge up the road and this was the nearest chippy. So glad because it's a good un some of the best I've had. We shared one of their munch boxes (a mix of pizza, chicken, sausage, chips and a curry sauce) and everything was delicious. “To be honest this has to be probably the best Chippy I've eaten in Stornoway. I have been going to them for a very long time since around the peak of the pandemic when every Friday after schools finished I go there to get just Large Chips, sometimes with my dad. I like how their chips are actually moist so its flavorful, and I prefer salt with it so the salt sticks to the chips, finally you get such a huge portion of chips for just £3.50 which blows my mind away. I've been going for so long infact that the workers there just know what to give me automatically, I'll miss them when I move out.”

The portion size looked great, but the chips were the saltiest chips I'd ever tasted, ruining the meal, taking away from the steak, which was average anyway. The service was great, but no one checked back on the meal, meaning I had to flag someone down. The food was kindly replaced, although I wasn't really needing a whole new steak, the steak was much better the second time. The chips were better, but even still, very salty. The wine was expensive and nothing special. It would be nice to have an affordable glass on offer to go with the steak and frites deal.”
