“Beautiful golf course and terrain. It’s a challenging course but not overly so. The quality here is competitive with many of the private clubs in the Metro. It does get a tad pricey, but they have a premium product here. Excellent use of tall grasses around the property. Trees, water, hills…everything to offer tons of natural beauty. Also, best breakfast sandwiches in town. Friendly staff, great food and outdoor patio. Excellent practice area, too.”

“LOVE this course. Fun, challenging holes for all skill levels. Course was in excellent shape. You can tell it’s members and course staff truly take pride in what they do. Had an opportunity to ride the Finn Scooters they had available as a riding option. I absolutely enjoyed the round on that. The cool new way to golf. Really promotes ready golf. The clubhouse is a fun atmosphere with an relaxing viewing area for after your round to watch some sports and have some delicious food. Not a thing on the menu that I wouldn’t recommend. The clubhouse staff was very helpful and polite. Had a very pleasant experience and WILL be back. 10/10 would recommend.”

“The Refuge was a great place to get married! The staff were so upfront about everything from the beginning. We talked about prices, available dates, and rain options all at the tour. We toured other places but were immediately taken in by their honesty and support. All of the staff there were amazing! We worked with Lisa as our coordinator and she was great to answer all of our questions leading up to the day - and we had a lot of them! They were easy to communicate with and we always got quick responses. We brought up possible ideas and scenarios and they made us feel comfortable while also giving their honest feedback and suggestions. They have done this so many times and seen it all so there isn't much that will phase them. We got so many compliments on the food and the overall service from the waitstaff and bartenders. The space itself was exactly what we needed with the ceremony under the gazeebo only a few steps from the main building. The flowers and overall landscape of the whole property was so beautiful and made for some amazing pictures. We got a perfect sunny day and the giant windows in the reception hall brought in so much light! We also asked for the string lights to be hung from the beams and they were also gorgeous. We had one small hiccup on the day where the photobooth we rented from them wasn't working properly. Lisa took it upon herself to tell us and find a new vendor if we approved. She found one the SAME DAY and made sure they had a meal and a seat. That could have been a huge bummer but she fixed the problem for us! They only have 1 getting ready room at the venue so we decided to get mostly ready off site and then just get dressed at the venue. The outside firepit and porch/tables were very appreciated by our guests so they had somewhere to be if they didn't want to be inside with the music all night. We brought corn hole to set up on the porch and it was a hit! Overall we would highly recommend this venue to anyone who wants amazing service and food at a beautiful venue for a price that was hard to find around the Twin Cities.”

“Played here with some friends today coverall, was a nice course! No mosquitoes was huge, very nice, course was decently well kept. We were the last tee time and I’ll tell you what, it’s so relaxing not having anyone hot on your tail, I recommend it! Was $37 ish bucks to go during the week, after hours, I think it shoots way up high on the weekends, so that alone will probably not let me come back, just can’t afford that. Overall, good first experience, may come back… only during the week though when it’s cheaper 😁”

Tee boxes in great shape. All around an excellent experience. 10/10 would recommend to all golfers of all skill levels.”

“The course is in good shape, and does extremely well when it comes to drainage after rainfall. Overall, the Golf here is good. However, the people in the club house were absolutely horrible to work with. I checked in with the woman behind the desk and she was immediate rude, confrontational, abrasive, and generally unprofessional and unpleasant. Apparently trying to get clarification on, in their words, “legal concerns” about having a 6 year old ride along is enough to almost get you removed from the course. I have never been so embarrassed for someone professionally. Truly a horrible look. She handed me a business card and told me to call someone else if I had any issues, and was extremely rude about it and condescending. There is no reason to treat anyone this way. Truly made the experience one I won’t forget, for all the wrong reasons.”
