Almeida Theatre

Almeida St, London N1 1TA, United Kingdom

“First visit to the Almedia Theatre. Front of House staff. Friendly and helpful. Cafe/bar reasonable I think the theatre is across two buildings. But the performance space in one. Show: Portia Coughlan A moving and difficult at times play. The cast is excellent. Especially, Alison Oliver as the titular Portia. The play set in Ireland through I've not met an Irish woman called Portia. Kathy Kiera Clarke is excellent in both comedic parts and the more serious elements of the play. A very powerful play.”

Highgate Cemetery
4.6
( 8 reviews )
Close until 10:00 AM

Swain's Ln, London N6 6PJ, United Kingdom

“Highgate Cemetery is a historic burial ground that is considered one of the most magnificent cemeteries in London. It is divided into two parts - the West and the East. What sets Highgate Cemetery apart is that it is the final resting place of numerous famous Londoners, including Karl Marx, George Eliot, Michael Faraday, and Tom Sayers, among others. During my visit, I spent over three hours exploring the cemetery and its various sections, including the Egyptian Avenue, Circle of Lebanon, and Terrace Catacombs. I would highly recommend visiting this remarkable cemetery on a sunny day and perhaps even joining one of the guided tours available. There is so much to see and learn about, and I personally cannot wait to visit again and delve deeper into its history.”

Waverley Abbey

( 16 reviews )

Waverley Ln, Farnham GU9 8EP, United Kingdom

“Off the beaten track but close enough to Farnham to warrant a quick visit, plus it's free, so why not? Interesting site that evokes slightly sad emotions standing in the ruins of a once impressive abbey. There is parking nearby, and a short walk along a path at the side of a picturesque lake will lead you to the site.”

Capesthorne Hall
4.6
( 8 reviews )

Congleton Rd, Siddington, Macclesfield SK11 9JY, United Kingdom

“We would definitely recommend Capesthorne Hall to any of our friends and family for their wedding venue! It's the perfect setting for any size of wedding party and you can easily make it your own. We had around 100 guests and used both the main hall and the lakeside suite on the day of our wedding, which offered the mix of the impressive stately hall to wow our guests on arrival with welcome drinks and canapés, then the bright and modern wedding breakfast and dancing location to continue the celebrations into the evening. Lucy and the team were amazing at coordinating our day. Lucy was our main point of contact, she was so lovely, professional and very organised, she made everything run so smoothly in the run up to the big day and on the day itself. Our wedding party also stayed in the on site accommodation, which is beautifully decorated and spacious. Our family were very impressed and it was so nice to all wake up the day after and have breakfast together while looking out onto the stunning lake and gardens. It was a truly magical venue!”

London Review Bookshop
4.6
( 8 reviews )

14-16 Bury Pl, London WC1A 2JL, United Kingdom

“just a review of the cafe: - walking in from the bookshop, smell of books fades to a small but bustling little cafe area with plenty of sunlight - drinks are a bit pricey, but they are large. the iced coffee and the turmeric tonic were £4.50 each. the turmeric tonic was very good. fruity, sweet, and refreshing. - they dont allow outside food which was a bit annoying (they informed me in a sorta rude way) so bumping down a star”

606 Club

4.6

90 Lots Rd, London SW10 0QD, United Kingdom

“The visit was intended to be watching the live performance of a jazz ensemble while f&b was considered secondary. Apart from the decent sounding acoustics of the venue, food turned out to be a pleasant surprise too. The tables are placed close to each other to understandably maxmise floor space but the feelings of being packed are the last to be felt. An incredible place to enjoy a meal with great music.”
