The Gaiety Theatre
4.7
( 16 reviews )

Carrick St, Ayr KA7 1NU, United Kingdom

“Have been coming to the Gaiety for years & every time I come to see a show, I seem to see a bit of architecture, etc, that I'd not noticed before. Inside the building is beautiful with three levels to view a show from. You have the stalls, the circle & what we all called 'the gods' as it seems so high up. There are also two boxes to watch a show, too. There have been some great shows here & thankfully, there still are great shows coming throughout the year. The prices are very good & the staff, who are mainly volunteers, are very courteous, happy & knowledgeable. I've just seen the pantomime with my granddaughter & had a truly brilliant time. The only issue I have, which is nothing at all to do with the theatre, is the car park beside it as the machines are either not working or you have to get a ticket using a website whilst in the car park & you only get 3 hours which at times have made it a close thing to get back to the car before the time runs out. It's a private company who own it & as far as I'm aware are extremely strict on enforcing times etc.”

Escape Reality Edinburgh
4.9
( 16 reviews )

One Edinburgh Quay, 1 Fountainbridge, Edinburgh EH3 9QB, United Kingdom

“The best experience ever, me and my boyfriend went together as a present for him for the national boyfriend day and it was best, we have never been to any escape rooms before, this was our first time and the game master Cameron was really really helpful, he was so patient with us and also gave some extra time as there was no one after us to make us feel so much better and made our experience as a cherry on the top! Unfortunately we couldn’t escape the Nosferatu room but it was so fun!! We will definitely be back to do more….”

Lochranza Distillery
4.7
( 8 reviews )

Lochranza, Isle of Arran KA27 8HJ, United Kingdom

“Arran whisky is distilled here, I will let you judge the whisky however the distillery is well worth a visit. The location is stunning and only about 5 minutes drive from the ferry port of Lochranza, which sails from Claonaig on the mainland. The shop has a good variety and the staff are excited about the whisky and experience they give visitors, especially on special release days. Also worth a visit is their sister distillery Lagg, who h is literally the other end of the island.”

Jim Clark Motorsport Museum
4.8
( 8 reviews )

44 Newtown St, Duns TD11 3AU, United Kingdom

“Not dog friendly. This was not an issue for our visit as the boys stayed in the car. It took 30-40 minutes to go around. On the ground floor so wheelchair friendly. £6 per adult. Worth a visit.”

World Of Wings
4.7
( 16 reviews )

Blairlinn Rd, Luggiebank, Glasgow G67 4AA, United Kingdom

“This place is a must-see. I have never seen so many different birds in one place. The birds are very well cared for by the staff. The cages were all very clean. The staff are very knowledgeable about the birds and you could tell they love each and every bird. And, the birds seemed to feel very comfortable with each handler. We will return, and we highly recommend that if you are in the area, stop by. It is well worth the visit. Also, they have a lovely Cabin Cafe. Good food and welcoming owners. Very cozy and very clean.”

Rspb Scotland Loch Leven
4.6
( 8 reviews )

B9097, Kinross KY13 9LX, United Kingdom

“A really lovely RSPB reserve that wasn't too far to drive from Edinburgh. The visitor centre was open when we visited and the staff were exceptionally friendly and pointed us to the telescope where we were able to see one of the last ospreys of the year before they migrate. There are several hides to observe the wildlife and binoculars can be hired from the centre if needs be. The car park is open 24/7 and the reserve can be accessed when the visitor centre is open - especially useful in winter or for early risers. There are a number of trails of different lengths and ability levels and the Leafy Loop is wheelchair/mobility device/pram friendly, although I would advise caution when the weather is wetter. Accessible toilet facilities, baby changing facilities and a picnic area all available. Overall I'd highly recommend!”

“At the moment the castle is undergoing repairs to make it safe for the future but it was still a good tour and the tour guide was knowledgeable and was a good laugh to boot. Nice cafe and gift shop in one place with a small but interesting museum to one side. Great views from the top of the castle over the village. A worth while walk up the steep but winding path.”

“Absolutely FANTASTIC stay! We wished we could stay there again! The room and hotel were full of "thoughtful little extras" to make you feel very pampered and special. The location is perfect and the food was excellent. The young man (October 22 morning shift) at the front desk was so helpful, professional and kind that he made our stay even better than we expected! I would not hesitate to recommend it or stay again myself.”

Kellie Castle, Pittenweem, Anstruther KY10 2RE, United Kingdom

Thirlestane Castle
4.6
( 8 reviews )

Thirlestane Castle, Lauder TD2 6RU, United Kingdom

“Went there for the BVAC Classic car show. Parking was good, but the entrance to the event from the car park was poorly envisaged as there was a fence in the way. The only way in and out of the event was to climb the fence or walk God knows to where to get round the fence as there were no signs or staff to help. The event itself was good with lots to see, but plenty of walking on uneven ground was required. Good weather made it a good day out for most of the really large crowd.”
