“My husband and I went there the other day looking for a couch. We've been to several furniture stores and spent a good amount of time looking for the right couch. We finally decided we would buy a blue leather couch on sale - we let the sales guy know, picked our 5 yr warranty and were just choosing a delivery date. He came back and told us that apparently the couch and love seat need to be bought together as a set and we couldn't buy just the couch. This was a total let down as we had got our hopes up. There was no indication whatsoever on the tags of either the couch or the love seat to indicate that you had to purchase it as a set. The salesman didn't know it either. It's false advertising. If you're going to require that the customer buys both, put " Set of 2: total price $"... Not individual prices. Ridiculous. Lost our business even though we've purchased from them before Edit: I reached out to the email (on Dec 11) I was asked to (in the response from the owner). I've received no response (as of Dec 25)”

“It’s a big thrift store, but it’s cluttered and the merchandising is really horrible. Items organized by type then are just thrown into boxes up and down the isles. Some stuff is just shoved onto shelving. Wide variety of different items, so that’s something. But be prepared to search and dig It looks like it could use a good dust & deep clean all over. The upstairs has books at a good price. They also have the clothing & footwear, purses etc. upstairs . I found the clothing to be dated and out of style. But style is subjective. That’s not to say I haven’t found the occasional score. The items in the showcase are really priced high - especially the native artwork. It was in the hundreds of dollars range - pricing items that high is crazy for a “Thrift” store. It would be better off in a high end resale shop. Anyway on the upside - The security guard who works here is always super nice & friendly. And proceeds go to a variety of charities like Meals on Wheels for one.”

After months of back and forth with my fully paid for extended warranty, they told me today that I didn't tell them about the damage quickly enough so its considered... "willful negligence" and they're not covering any repairs whatsoever. Apparently it is MY fault that the warranty that I paid for doesn't cover their furniture that it is designed to cover. My bad.”

“I purchased a custom sofabed and a bedframe here at Briers. There were a huge selection of fabric to choose from. When building this new sofa, I wanted it to be functional, space-saving, and hopefully "cat-friendly". In stores, Nicole was incredibly pleasant to communicate with, and was very supportive in my decision for a suitable tight-weave fabric and the complimentary colour for my throw pillows. The sofabed feet were also lowered a bit so my cats would not be able to squeeze their bodies under and scratch up the undersides. It took a couple months for the custom sofabed to be built, but that timeframe was expected. Cherie also reached out a week prior to the completion, and worked out some minor details- thank you for that. I am very happy with the overall experience, am glad I supported a local business, and I have a custom product built in Vancouver!- A triple win there! My cats and I recommend this business.”

I ordered some furniture, paid half down on good faith, with the balance to be paid on delivery. Then they asked for the balance to be paid two days BEFORE delivery. I refused, wanting to inspect the delivery as ordered and in good order, quite willing to pay ON delivery as I had agreed. They refused, so I cancelled the order.”

Needed passport photos taken and printed, but tried calling ahead to make sure we could take our infant in and that there was availability. Nobody ever picks up the phone, and I've called numerous times on numerous days. Then, because it's just a few blocks from where I live, we decided to walk in. The first time, the guys working there said, "We have no film to print on. Come back in a few days.". My wife went back in a few days, waited for 20 minutes in line, and then was told, "The "machine" is broken, so you need to come back in a few days." The management of this location should be embarrassed.”
