“Bit of a birthday treat before heading on to Edinburgh for NY. The hotel is beautiful and very cozy and comfortable. The staff were all lovely, very friendly and efficient. Was able to check-in an hour early and was given a room upgrade to a King room upon arrival. The room had ample space with a sofa and was well appointed too with a pod coffee machine, dressing gowns and slippers should you need them. Went by reception on way to the bar and were given 2 complimentary drinks vouchers. The bar had a cozy, welcoming feel. You could tell the grounds were gorgeous but the weather prevented us from exploring. Dinner was devine and the staff were super. Breakfast is very generous however this was the one spoiler as the scrambled eggs looked like they'd been sat out for ages and possibly fried up to re-heat or something. Had to leave them, they were that bad. Prior to the cooked breakfast there was a cold table with plenty fruit cereals and yoghurt. There was a toasted type bun but it seemed over toasted and was rock hard so couldn't eat this either. Breakfast may have been disappointing but I'd still stay here again 🙂”

“Booked for a little getaway in October, not the best time as it was a bit rainy however the campsite had a great kitchen and warm shower block with everything you needed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and made sure we knew where everything was. The campsite is a little out of the way from Edinburgh however there is a bus stop not too far down the hill which takes you directly into Edinburgh city center, one thing to note is the bus does take 1 hour to get into the city but apart from that it's quite comfortable. All in all it's a wonderful little campsite with a really friendly, welcoming staff and camping environment.”

The food is exceptional, slightly more expensive but it is absolutely worth it. Delicious unpretentious food, while definitely feels like fine dining. There’s an open kitchen where it’s nice to watch your food being prepared. Great selection of wine too. Highly recommended for a special occasion. The room was OK, there was a bit of a musky smell, but otherwise it was fine, comfy mattress and nice and quiet at night. We stayed in room 6, a bit small but fine for 1 night.”

“We travelled down for a few Nights in late October. Caravan park was very quiet, most caravans were Uninhabited during our short stay. This was possibly due to the pool, bar and restaurant being closed for renovations. A good base for exploring the southernmost area of Scotland.
