“We were so excited and pleased to attend the Assembly Hall performance by the Kid Pivot dance company…the group of medieval re-enactors stage a performance that demonstrates to the audience how ancient forces can interact with a present moment in time where a group faces dissolution due to declining membership and debt..the staging , the dance performers and the creative dance movements choreographed and directed by Crystal Pite and written and directed by Jonathon Young demonstrated superior leadership and creativity interpretation by the dance group…this was a stellar event to be present and the DanceHouse group deserves to be applauded for their effort in assisting that this performance was brought to Vancouver audiences at The Vancouver Playhouse…”

“Great place to see a play, good sight lines and audio. Well organized front office. Parking is a bit of a drag but it's the location and the city of Victoria,s ongoing war on cars. Imagine the gall of seniors on a cold rainy night thinking they might want to drive . Otherwise no issues”

“We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during our first visit here, the day Bobby Messano performed. An excellent little venue that creates an intimate atmosphere in which one can relax and get the best of their evening, unlike the frantic chaos of the typical concert setting. We can't wait to come back, and we hope Bobby does too! Thank you for providing such a unique experience!”

“Title: A Memorable Experience at the Folk Festival at Senittinial Theater Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) Date of Visit: June 3rd, 2023 I recently had the pleasure of attending the Folk Festival at Senittinial Theater in North Vancouver, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. From the moment I stepped into the venue, I was swept away by the vibrant atmosphere and the incredible talent showcased throughout the evening. First and foremost, the lineup of performers was exceptional. The organizers did a fantastic job curating a diverse range of folk artists, each with their unique style and captivating stage presence. From solo acts to bands, the talent was top-notch, and it was evident that every performer had a deep passion for their craft. I was particularly impressed by the variety of musical instruments and the skillful musicianship on display. It truly made for a memorable experience. The Senittinial Theater itself was an ideal venue for the Folk Festival. The acoustics were impeccable, ensuring that every note and lyric resonated beautifully throughout the hall. The seating arrangement provided excellent visibility from every angle, allowing the audience to fully immerse themselves in the performances. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making sure that everyone felt comfortable and had a great time. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the sense of community that permeated the festival. Folk music has a way of bringing people together, and this event was no exception. The audience was enthusiastic and engaged, clapping and singing along to their favorite songs. It was heartwarming to witness people from different backgrounds and generations coming together to celebrate the power of music and storytelling. In addition to the outstanding music, the Folk Festival also featured a variety of food vendors and artisans showcasing their crafts. This added a lovely touch to the overall experience, allowing attendees to explore different flavors and appreciate local talent beyond the music. One small suggestion for improvement would be to provide more seating areas outside the theater, as the festival was so enjoyable that many of us wanted to relax and continue the conversations sparked by the performances. It would have been wonderful to have a designated space to unwind and connect with fellow festival-goers. Overall, the Folk Festival at Senittinial Theater was an unforgettable evening filled with exceptional music, a welcoming ambiance, and a true sense of community. I highly recommend attending future editions of this festival to anyone who appreciates folk music and wants to experience the magic it can create. I am already eagerly looking forward to the next event and the wonderful memories it will undoubtedly bring.”

Vic Theatre

808 Douglas St, Victoria, BC V8W 2B6, Canada

“This is a great small house movie theatre. It is a common venue for independent and art films, so be sure to check for their current offering. A small concession stand and washrooms along with a small lobby make for a good spot away from the crowds.”

The Centre For Performing Arts
4.5

777 Homer St, Vancouver, BC V6B 0H3, Canada

“Went abd saw the Grinch musical here. Wasn't sure how the seats were gonna be as we were in the balcony. They were great, I could see the whole stage. It was clean and the show was great. I did find it a bit cold in there but I guess maybe they had to for the performers with the lights and everything. They had the booster seats for kids, my son used it so he could see over someone's head and didn't have to complain the whole time. They even had concession and merchandise which I was surprised. It was a great show and the centre was a great venue!”

“I am so happy that we find AirHouse for my kids. I can honestly say that the people that work here love their job and enjoy the kids. We’ve been coming here now for a few months and the manager Craig and good team are so exceptional. They treat you so kind and are so accommodating to all your needs. We recently started skateboard lessons and trampoline lessons and I’m telling you that the teachers especially Anna is awesome. She has so much patience and is kind and so friendly. The team over here like Tory and the group sorry I don’t recall everyone’s names but will add you in once I remember. I am so grateful for all that you guys do and so happy we find a place where kids can roam run jump skate and be free. I highly recommend this place to all those dads and moms out there looking to get their children active. Thank you guys so much.”

It is also close to deer lake and a nearby playground.”

“We did a birthday party here over the weekend. Setting up and scheduling was easy and efficient. It is convenient that all food and cake is included for one price. More plates and/or napkins would be helpful though. They recommend coming 30 mins in advance, but with ten kids you definitely need at least that or even more time. They say 2.5 hours all in for the party but the party room portion was too long. I'd say 2 hours would suffice all in. The party itself was very difficult in the beginning, it took over half an hour to set up the kids for their games and two of 9 kids didn't even get finished in time to be included in their first game - this was because two kiosks for signing in were not working, but not labelled out of service. There were two other groups trying to sign in at same time and it was frustrating waiting forever in line-up for kiosk, only to find out it doesn't even work and had to re-line up again. When I asked the staff for help they said just keep trying different kiosks - which is why two kids didn't get into their first game !!!! Even after I told two different staff members they did not bother to label 'out of order ' or fix the machines for any groups coming later that day. With the exception of one young man, the staff were unhelpful and unfriendly. Plates were only given for ice cream cake that was put out at same time as pizza so it started to melt. NO outside food permitted (w/o $100 charge) kids were very thirsty as one drink with food included in party package. One child didn't show for party (but I did know this was their policy in advance ) so $43 charge for that guest was still charged. Party room is only available after the laser tag and there is only one table in the common area, so there was nowhere to sit or put down the 9 kids coats that I was holding along with their gifts. ....”

“Lack of professionalism and poor communication skills of the staff at this university. This is now my second time with a bad experience with this university. First in 2016/17, one of the teachers in the ABT program was highly inappropriate with the students and only cared about their personal lives, allowed students to be bullied and some had to leave the program. Now in 2023 I emailed an inquiry about their language proficiency certificate after no one would call me back after leaving messages at the future students office. I was told 3 times to contact someone else and the last person Barbara could not be bothered to respond after numerous emails over the course of a month. Finally I got through on the phone a month later with future students and he told me to contact Hope who was very rude to me via email. She talked down to me like I was stupid for not knowing about the program, putting things in “basic terms for me to understand” (direct quote) and not contacting Barbara before. After telling her that I don’t appreciate the attitude and it’s not my fault her staff couldn’t be bothered to email me back after a month of trying to communicate, Hope never responded. The lack of basic customer service skills and professionalism at this school is appalling. Highly don’t recommend this school endless you want to be treated poorly.”
