“Doesn't even deserve 1 star purchased a car on 22nd march. On the day i bought I was told that I'm getting a good deal due to new gearbox just been put in it. On the day I collected the car it had to go back after making a Loud Squeaking noise. Give then there dues it got sorted right away. On further inspection when I got home. Under the bonnet there was no heat shield. This dangerous if there was a fire. The side skirts were almost coming off couple of weeks later the car wouldn't down shift in to 2nd gear so it went back to the garage to get All this sorted this probelm took over 6 weeks to get sorted or at least I thought it was all sorted after getting the car back. Another week later thankfully I just came of the duel carriage way and the wheel / ball joint complety slipped off the car. Causing the car so skid along the road thankfully no one was injured as my 2 kids were in the car and thank god I was not traveling on the duel carriageway going 70mph or me and my family could have been seriously injured or worse. After contacting the garage to say what happend I never got one appoligy just that that we drove the car back up to you it couldn't have been caused by us. So I contacted my finance company who were amazing and they sent out a independent Vehicle inspector who looked round everything and stated THAT THE BALL JOINT SLIPPED OUT DUE TO THE LAST PERSON WHO TRYIED TO REPAIR THE CAR AND DIDNT SECURE IT PROPERLY. The car has now been rejected and going back to them it took them over 2 weeks on deadline day to accept responsibility and take the car back... disgracefull from start to finish with valkswagon arnold clark.”

“Bought a car from this dealership in 2021..read on for update. I enquired about the service history of the vehicle and was told it was all online, so I asked for a copy of the history to be told it couldn't be accessed at the Alistair Buchan Ltd but was to be reassured it was all there. A service was done on the car before I collected it and was provided with the printout of the Digital Service Report. I went to see Mercedes to be told Mercedes had no history for the vehicle. I then called numerous numbers and e-mailed places in search of the history - but to no luck. Mercedes only have a copy of the report from Alistair Buchan of the service carried out pre-purchase and no other service history. Update 2023: It has later turned out after an extensive vehicle history check, there was no servicing done on the car previously. Disappointing to be lied to. I feel the communication from the dealership after the sale went through was relatively poor. 7 days after I bought, the two digital dash screens died completely. Luckily the car was still under warranty and Mercedes diagnosed the screens as 'faulty' and replaced them under warranty. Pretty disappointed at that, especially only having the car for one week. On reflection now a couple of years on, I was clearly told false information about the service history, and I should have been wiser to the fact but I trusted the dealership naively. The car has been ok. There seems to be a semi-permanent issue with brake pads warping and wheel alignment, which may be a sign of hidden accident damage but Mercedes haven't spotted this themselves at any services or MOT's. I'd be wary, and double check every bit of information from this dealer and ask for all paperwork otherwise don't be afraid to walk away. I would have walked away had I realised at the time.”

The only disappointment was that I was promised a full tank of fuel as I travelled from Inverness to Falkirk to purchase my vehicle as my local Hyundai dealership did not contact me on two separate occasions - hence choosing SDM Family Dealership, I was disappointed that I did not get a full tank of fuel as promised when picking up the car & had to fill up the tank immediately after collecting my car - which was a bit of a dampener!”

Left a pregnant woman with a 1 year old stranded in the cold rain completely unsympathetic to the situation. Not once were we made aware that the car would not be passing its mot so we could make arrangements for her to get home. Tried to charge us almost £1600 for what they call "essential repairs" for the car to pass its mot, thats not even including the advisories. Immediately pulled the car out the garage and had this work carried out today by another small garage for £450 and the car is back on the road within a few hours. Cannot believe in the midst of a cost of living crisis there are places like this ready to steal your money.”

“This place is absolute joke. The communication is non existent in this garage. You'd think if you have your car booked in for a time it would go in for that time or maybe after. We did ask if the car could be ready for a certain time as we had a later appointment that day. The female at service desk had said i will write it down on the sheet. Understandable it might not be ready but if we was told this it would of been better. We had a hire car from them aswell and just told we would be phoned when the car was ready. So we went away for a good few hours then went back the car was still in the same place we parked it. So eventually got hold of Chris the "manager" seriously he has no communication he passes the buck to everyone else. Really. Eventually we was told we could take the hire car home as we should of been told this in the morning clearly we hadn't been told otherwise we would of come back to Glasgow. Then as we drive away from the garage the car gets taken. Seriously. Communication is key. Which is definitely not at this garage. And seriously Chris needs a talking to as he's a rubbish manager. If you can avoid this place for a service I would.”

“Warranty not accepted for a car with 900 miles, but that's not why I am giving 1 star. Dealership failed to program a new key and I had to bring the car again. When I collected the car it was dirty from grease, bumper had a paint chip and the steering wheel undercover wasn't fitted properly. I had to bring the car again. This time paint on the steering wheel plastic was scratched. I was told that because of all the issues caused and me having to bring the car over 5 times I wont be charged the warranty investigation fee. A few days later I received a call from the workshop manager to learn it was their mistake and in the end I had to pay for the warranty inspection fee. A bunch of bunglers.”
