“Amazing food, excellent service. We’ve been there on Christmas Day. Instead of having lunch at the hotel we were looking for somewhere else to eat. I know we had to book in advance but we didn’t. Luckily we found that place. Everything was amazing food, wine, deserts the people. I can’t recommend more. If we visit Edinburgh again, we are definitely going back there. “Horrendous food and bizarrely poor service. First time and last time we will be here. Out for a bite to eat with friends in a place where the two members of staff were in a trance like state. It was like speaking a cardboard cut out. Ordered a burger based on the assumption that it's pretty hard to get these things wrong. I was served what looked like 2 small, overcooked, tough, chewy pieces of wood. I'm convinced they were leftover from the day before. Complained to staff (see trance like comment for response) and asked them to inform the 'chef'. I guess a good chef would have a little pride and maybe want to apologise. But no. Nothing. In fact no one offered any apology. The other meals were below average at best.”

Starter, main and desert were all fantastic. Even the bread and homemade butter was perfect. The service and atmosphere were also great and this is a place I highly recommend to people when they travel up to Edinburgh.
