27505 SE Eagle Fern Rd, Eagle Creek, OR 97022, United States

“On a spectacular autumn day, I had the opportunity to visit this park. What a gem tucked into the forest in Eagle Creek, Oregon. It was at the peak of fall foliage colors, so it was a special treat. My friend grew up coming here so she gave me a tour. For a small entry fee, it has everything you would want. Ample parking, restrooms, a playground, picnic areas, group areas, trails to the creek, mossy old growth trees, tall cedars, ferns, and so much beauty.”

Rainier to the Three Sisters are visible. Mary's Peak is the highest point in the Coast Range at just over 4,000 feet.”

Cline Falls State Scenic Viewpoint
4.6
( 8 reviews )

7100 OR-126, Redmond, OR 97756, United States

“This park is a great place for families to enjoy the river, with smooth waters that are not deep. We took the hike to Cline Falls, which is mostly an easy hike just more than a half mile, with a bit of uneven terrain. To get the best view of the falls will take moderate rock climbing skills which can be done by most people who are reasonably in shape. The falls offer a great place to explore as the water was not very deep. Excellent place to spend an hour or two with the family!”

Cottonwood Canyon State Park
4.7
( 8 reviews )

Wasco, OR 97065, United States

“Such a lovely secluded campground. We love going here every year. Perfect to chill, relax and recharge away from the civilization. Looking at the starts is the must. Long trails, fishing bass and swimming are the main activities. It is a primitive campground with large RV site and correct tent ones with potable spots and vault toilet on RV area but on tent area, there is a building with regular toilets, showers and sink with hot water!”

Little Zigzag Falls
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Mt Hood, OR 97041, United States

“This was such a great hike. It was short, easy and beautiful. There were quite a few people and so sometimes we had to wait at the more popular, photo op places, but it was beautiful. There was quite a bit of tree coverage and so the path was shaded most of the time. The path was also well maintained and clear of tree roots and rocks. We did see a man in a motorized wheelchair and while there were some places that might not have been accessible to him, it appeared that most of it was. I recommend this hike for anyone of any age and ability.”

Lava Cast Forest Trail, La Pine, OR 97739, United States

“12-31-2023 From Sunriver on S Century drive head east on Lava cast forest rd 9720. Its gravel all the way to Forest rd 950. There is a sign at intersection of 9720 & 950. R on 950 for short drive on dirt rd. Both roads were car friendly today. Google map will send you off on rd 440. Dont take it. Go till rd 950. Really cool today with some snow on the ground and clouds blowing right onto the trail. Watched small clouds roll in across the lava and envelope us as they passed. Good interpretive signs explaining geology and plants. Trail direction suggests clockwise. We agree for view of mountains toward end of trial and last half of trail is single wide.”

Sparks Lake

Oregon 97703, USA

“Absolutely beautiful place. I’m sure it’s great during the spring and summer too but the frozen lake and the scenery around it during the late fall and winter is just stunning. Definitely need a 4x4 to access this lake unless you want to hike all the way in from the main road.”

Tugman State Park Campground

( 8 reviews )
Open until 09:00 PM

72549 US-101, Lakeside, OR 97449, United States

“We stayed in two yurts for 6 nights the past week. Parking is right out front the yurt, so not long to haul your stuff inside. Walk to playground and lake wasn't too far, and we did that many times a day. The bathroom was close and showers just little farther but all very central. The lake has some sandy areas for playing in sand and a logged off shaollow water ares for swimming. There were salamanders in the water. Theirs a trail to walk. Not difficult incline, but it is 3.5 miles out, then 3.5 back if you do the whole thing and 7 miles total potentially. The best veiw point is around mile one. I saw mushrooms and snake and frogs and snails on hike. Some crossing are just boards further you get. We did a short drive to lighthouse and loved to tour and a trip to beach by coosbay another day. Internet was spotty on the phone, but I had cell service. You can't her traffic noise from 101, but I grew up next to freeway so didnt bother me.”

Valley Of The Giants
4.4
( 10 reviews )

Valley Of The Giants, Falls City, OR 97344, United States

“A timber treasure hidden in the oregon coast range west of Salem. Twenty five years ago as a Boy Scout, I camped at the trail head to Valley Of The Giants. There was an old growth log that had fallen across the river. Back then that old growth log was the foot bridge. Now the log is gone and an engineered steel foot bridge sets in the same spot. The trail is rugged and steep in spots. It will be slippery and you should expect to land on your back pockets when it's rained. There are some spots on the trail where the roots may trip your feet up. This trail while being only 1.3 mils long, is probably best suited for the sure footed individuals. Have you been here yet?”

Bigelow Hot Springs
3.9
( 10 reviews )

Blue River, OR 97413, United States

“I came here at sundown in the middle of the rain. Water was still super warm and located right next to the river. Water is very murky so I didn't sit down. It was a total experience with the rain and the darkness! It's in the middle of nowhere so be sure to download your offline maps. There is a trail you can hike as well so if there are a lot of people here when you arrive you can take a trek and come check it out a bit later”
